AION 2 Chaotic Outer Reshanta: New PvP Zone Guide
Chaotic Outer Reshanta is AION 2's new standardized PvP zone. Here is who can enter, how the weekly timer works, what it drops and how it changes Abyss farming.
Chaotic Outer Reshanta is the new AION 2 PvP zone added in the November 4 update (November 3 PST). You can enter from level 45 with 3 hours of base playtime per week, and every character's stats, skill levels and Stigma levels are standardized inside, so gear matters far less inside. Here is how entry works, what you can earn there and how it fits with the rest of your Abyss week.
What Chaotic Outer Reshanta is
The developers added Chaotic Outer Reshanta to reduce Abyss Point gaps between players at different stages of progression and to create a more balanced PvP environment. If your gear is behind, the regular Abyss is a hard place to earn points, and this zone gives those players a fairer place to fight.
The key rule is standardization. When you enter, your character's stats, skill levels and Stigma levels are set to the same values as everyone else. Only stat bonuses and specialization effects that come from class skills and Stigmas still apply. Stats from your gear do not carry over, so your Combat Power from upgrades is not what wins fights here.
In our view, that makes it the closest thing AION 2 has to a skill bracket in open-world PvP. Class knowledge, positioning and party play decide the fight instead of who spent longer upgrading gear.
How to enter and how the weekly timer works
- Level: characters level 45 and above can enter.
- Weekly time: you get 3 hours of base playtime per week.
- More time: use Outer Entry Stones to extend your playtime past the base 3 hours.
- Missions: some Season Missions can be completed inside, so check your Season Mission list before you go in.
The patch notes do not say how many hours one Outer Entry Stone adds or where the stones come from. We will add those details once confirmed.
Because the timer is weekly, plan your sessions. Several short sessions let you stop when a fight goes badly instead of burning the whole timer at once. Save some time for Season Missions you can finish there, so your hours count toward both.
Outer Reshanta rewards and the Abyss Point cut
The zone drops a wide mix of rewards, most of them Bound:
Chaotic Outer Reshanta rewards
| Reward | Tradable? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Kina | No (Bound) | Bound |
| Abyss Points | Not an item | PvP Abyss Points inside are reduced by 50% |
| Common, Rare and Epic gear | Not stated | Gear drops from the zone |
| Outer Abyss Rift Stone | No (Bound) | Bound reward, use not stated |
| Crafting materials | No (Bound) | Various materials, all Bound |
The 50% cut matters. Abyss Points earned through PvP in Outer Reshanta count for half, so the zone is not a shortcut to Abyss rank. Think of it as a fair place to fight that also pays Kina, gear and materials, and keep your main Abyss Point farming for the regular Abyss and the Abyss Corridor.
If your goal is rank, our AION 2 Abyss PvP guide covers the regular zones and how Abyss rank works.
Artifact Siege and boss schedule changes
The same update reworked the Abyss calendar, which changes how you plan your week:
AION 2 Abyss schedule after November 4
| Content | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Artifact Siege | 3 times a week, 21:00 | Thursdays and Saturdays, 21:00 |
| Artifact Bosses (Kaira, Argo, Tamasa) | Previous days not stated, 21:30 | Thursdays and Saturdays, 21:30 |
| Abyss Corridor Abyss Points per run | Base | Up 50% |
| Argo, the Spirit King (Abyss field boss) | Not stated | Twice daily, 10:30 and 22:30 |
| Gartua and High Commander Lagta respawn | 12 hours | 11 hours |
The Artifact Bosses are Executor Kaira, Executor Argo and Executor Tamasa. The Gartua change covers Eternal Gartua for Elyos and Immortal Gartua for Asmodians, along with High Commander Lagta on both sides. The 50% Abyss Corridor boost was added to make up for losing one siege day, so in our view the Corridor is the better use of your time on the days without a siege.
Outer Reshanta vs the regular Abyss
The two zones now do different jobs, and the difference is easiest to see side by side:
Chaotic Outer Reshanta compared with the regular Abyss
| Point | Chaotic Outer Reshanta | Regular Abyss |
|---|---|---|
| Your stats | Standardized for everyone | Your own gear and Combat Power |
| Time limit | 3 hours a week, more with Outer Entry Stones | Regular Abyss rules |
| PvP Abyss Points | Reduced by 50% | Full value |
| Main reason to go | Fair fights, Kina, gear, materials, Season Missions | Abyss rank, sieges and bosses |
We expect most players to use both. Spend your 3 hours in Outer Reshanta for the Bound Kina, materials and missions, take sieges in the regular Abyss on Thursdays and Saturdays, and use the Abyss Corridor on the other days when you want Abyss Points at full value. If your character is under-geared, Outer Reshanta is also a low-pressure way to learn the PvP side of your class before you take it into the open Abyss.
How to make the most of your 3 hours
- Check your Season Missions first and note which ones can be done in Outer Reshanta.
- Go in with a party. Stats are equal, so numbers and coordination win fights.
- Learn your class's Stigma and specialization effects, since those still apply when everything else is standardized.
- Use the Bound Kina and crafting materials for your own upgrades, as you cannot sell them.
- Keep a little playtime for the end of the week in case a Season Mission needs it.
We expect classes that win through control and skill timing rather than raw stats to do well here, but NCSOFT has not shared any class data for the zone yet. Our AION 2 class tier list was built for gear-on PvP, so treat it as a starting point in Outer Reshanta, not a final ranking.
Who should play Outer Reshanta
Newer and returning players gain the most. If your gear is behind, the regular Abyss is rough, but here you fight on equal terms and still collect Kina, Epic gear chances and materials. It is also a good place to practice your class in PvP before the Arena.
Fully geared players lose their stat edge, and their PvP Abyss Points are halved inside, so for them it is mostly about Season Missions, materials and fun fights. If you are short on time and want Abyss Points without the weekly grind, our AION 2 Abyss Points service can cover the farming while you focus on the content you enjoy.
