AION 2 Leveling Guide: Quests, Ascension & Progression
Plan AION 2 leveling around story quests and Ascension. Solve progression blockers, manage Odyle Energy and understand level 45 versus regional caps.
A useful AION 2 leveling route keeps you working on the next objective that unlocks progress. Follow the story, finish the milestones it requires and take a nearby detour when it solves a real blocker. This guide explains how to choose that next task, manage reward claims and move from a leveling target to equipment and collection goals.
Level 45, level 50 and your chosen target
NC’s July 6 Chapter 1 announcement raised the level cap to 50 for that update. It is a dated version change, not proof that every regional version has the same cap. Chapter 1 progression announcement.
CFNBoost’s current Powerleveling configurator offers a current-to-target range from 1 to 45. That describes the service you can order, not a universal game cap. If you are playing beyond that milestone, use your next story objective and regional progression rules to decide what to do next.
The leveling route: story first, useful detours second
- Track the next Episode or main-story objective and read what completes it.
- Finish a required Ascension or progression milestone before starting unrelated farming.
- Run an Expedition when the active quest requires that dungeon and mode.
- Choose a nearby side activity when it fills the missing requirement or gives an upgrade you need.
- Return to the story after the detour instead of turning it into a full map cleanup.
This is a route-selection method, not a timed speedrun. Exact dungeon unlock levels, quest names and wing rewards are not listed as universal checkpoints because the current regional evidence does not establish them for every version.
Choose a task that moves the route forward
| Stage | Focus | Finish before moving on |
|---|---|---|
| Opening quests | Learn your class and follow the tracked story | Required interactions, quest rewards and useful equipment changes |
| Story Expedition | Clear the dungeon and mode named by the quest | The actual completion condition, not an unrelated repeat clear |
| Progression milestone | Finish the active Ascension or unlock objective | Eligible progress and the required quest or reward claim |
| A stalled route | Identify the missing level, item, access or objective | One targeted detour that solves that blocker |
| Your chosen target | Review remaining story and equipment work | A next goal rather than a blanket claim that leveling is finished |
When leveling stops: find the missing requirement
A practical blocker checklist
| What stops you | Check first | A useful next action |
|---|---|---|
| No next story objective | Tracked quest, chapter and unfinished required milestone | Complete the missing interaction or requirement before grinding |
| An Ascension gauge is short | Activities the active milestone counts | Choose a nearby eligible task, then return to the milestone |
| Repeated deaths | Movement, defensive tools, consumables and equipped gear | Fix one recurring problem and practice the difficult encounter |
| A dungeon will not admit you | The displayed level, equipment and access requirements | Work on the requirement that actually blocks entry |
| A reward cannot be claimed | Its resource cost and available claims | Choose whether that reward is worth your remaining resources |
A new activity is useful when it solves the obstacle, not merely because it has an impressive reward. For equipment choices, use the AION 2 gearing guide; for comparing runs, use the dungeon guide.
Ascension: finish the milestone you have
Treat an Ascension as its own objective. Read the active requirement, complete the tasks it accepts and return to claim the milestone when it is ready. Do not keep farming a different gauge or quest simply because its marker is nearby.
If several activities qualify, prefer a task that also helps your character: a needed item, a convenient quest or a dungeon you already understand. The relevant quest screen determines which activities count. This guide does not assume every Stronghold, Sealed Dungeon or side quest contributes to every Ascension.
Story Expeditions and Odyle Energy
A story clear and a reward claim are separate decisions. Complete the encounter the quest asks for, then compare the optional reward with the resource cost and the upgrade you need. A higher-level reward you cannot yet access is not automatically a reason to stay blocked today.
- Identify the exact dungeon and difficulty in the active story requirement.
- Check the completion credit after the clear before repeating it.
- Claim a reward when it provides useful progress at an acceptable cost.
- Save resources when the reward is a minor replacement and another eligible goal matters more.
- Include failed attempts and recovery time when deciding whether a harder run is worthwhile.
NC’s July Chapter 1 update removed Expedition and Transcendence tickets and tied rewards to Odyle Energy. That change is dated context; the older rule to save every cube until 45 is not treated here as a universal recommendation. NC’s dungeon update.
Which side activities are worth the detour?
Choose nearby work by its purpose
| Activity | Do it now when | Leave it for later when |
|---|---|---|
| Regional or side quest | It fulfills a required milestone or awards something you need | It adds travel without helping the next objective |
| Stronghold or Sealed Dungeon | The active requirement or a chosen reward makes it useful | It is only part of a full map-completion sweep |
| Feathers or other collections | A pickup is on your route or you are pursuing that collection | Reaching it would interrupt a more useful story task |
| Repeated Expedition | You need its claimable reward and can clear it reliably | The cost or failure rate outweighs the useful reward |
For a dedicated collection session, use the Empyrean Traces guide. Keep leveling and full collection as separate goals unless you deliberately want both.
Gear spending while you level
Use story rewards and affordable upgrades to keep the character functional. Before spending heavily on a temporary piece, ask which problem it solves: surviving the next fight, meeting an entry requirement or improving a route you will repeat.
A small upgrade that removes a blocker can be worthwhile; repeatedly enhancing gear you immediately replace may not be. Keep currency and materials for the next known requirement. Use the Kinah farming guide to compare expenses with resources you can actually earn.
After reaching your leveling target
- Finish any story requirement still blocking the activity you want.
- Choose one next goal: equipment, a collection, a dungeon or PvP progression.
- Compare its entry requirement with your current character.
- Pick the upgrade or task that removes the gap, then reassess.
- Separate completed levels from unfinished story, access and collection work.
Reaching 45 in a leveling order does not imply that all quests, collections or later progression are complete. For a broader start, the beginner guide connects account setup and early goals.
Choosing a CFNBoost leveling range
Select the character’s actual current level and the target you want in the Powerleveling configurator. Its current 1–45 range is confirmed from the published service. Review optional tasks separately before checkout.
- Choose your Region: EU, NA East, NA West or Asia. The Region selection does not add a surcharge.
- Main Story, all Side Quests, Empyrean Traces, Abyss Traces, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds are separate selectable extras.
- Piloted leveling requires account access. Stay logged out during the agreed PRO sessions to avoid interrupting progress.
- Choose Normal, Express or Super Express from the published completion-speed options; those choices do not change the selected leveling target.
If your goal is equipment progression rather than more levels, compare Combat Power Boost. For a package of additional tasks, compare the Daeva Bundle and its included scope.

AION 2 leveling FAQ
What is the fastest way to level in AION 2?
Keep the story objective moving and choose detours that solve its next requirement. No measured fastest-clear time or fixed hours-to-cap is promised by this guide.
Is the AION 2 max level 45 or 50?
NC announced level 50 in the July 6 Chapter 1 update. Check your own regional version for its cap. CFNBoost’s current 1–45 leveling selection is an order range, not a universal cap.
Do I have to complete every side quest?
Choose required or useful nearby tasks first. A full side-quest or map completion is a separate goal and may not help your immediate leveling blocker.
Should I save every Expedition reward?
No universal rule fits every character. Compare the reward with its Energy cost and the problem it solves now; save resources when the reward is not useful enough.
How do I fill an Ascension gauge?
Use activities listed as eligible by your active milestone, then return to complete or claim it. The exact task and threshold depend on the requirement you have.
Does a leveling order include every collection?
No. Review the separate extras for Main Story, Side Quests, Empyrean Traces, Abyss Traces, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds. Only selected tasks are included.
