AION 2 Beginner Guide: Your First Route to Endgame
Start AION 2 with global server choices, class roles and story goals. Learn what to do first, when to upgrade gear and how to plan your next session.
Your first AION 2 character needs a clear next step, not a perfect endgame build. Choose a role you enjoy, follow the story, learn movement and defensive timing, then spend resources on the task that currently blocks progress. This beginner guide gives you a practical first-session route and shows when leveling, collections, dungeons and crafting become useful.
How to start AION 2: global access and server choices
AION 2’s global PC Early Access began September 30, 2026, before the October 5 official launch on Steam and PURPLE. The Founder’s Pack Early Access period is now over; use the current game download and account instructions rather than an older pre-launch offer. NC’s launch announcement.
The October 9 server-transfer notice lists North America East, North America West, Europe, South America and Asia region groups. Choose the region that works for your connection and friends, then agree the faction and exact server before creating a character. A familiar server name alone is not enough to confirm that you can play together. Official server notices.
- Start from the official global game page or Steam listing and check access, download and account instructions for the platform you will use.
- Review the launcher and game settings for the available language options. An English website does not prove that an older regional client has the same language support.
- Agree your region, faction and exact server with friends before creating the character.
- Test your connection and controls on the selected region before spending on a character you may later replace.
- Before choosing a paid service, identify the character, region and exact task. A service region selection does not move your character to another game server.
Use the official game notices for current maintenance, access and server information. Older KR/TW patch guides and global launch guidance may describe different versions; compare the date and region before following a level cap, dungeon gate or class recommendation.
Playing with friends and changing servers
Choose the same region, faction and exact server as your group. The October 9 transfer notice limits transfers to the same region and faction and separates Early Access servers from Launch servers. It also lists limited transfer periods and capacity requirements. Do not assume that a later transfer will fix any starting choice.
If you already have a character, review the current transfer notice and the in-game eligibility screen before making a new one or paying for a change. Transfer schedules can change, and the announced service is not an unrestricted region or faction switch. Official server-transfer details.
Before Creating Your Character
- Choose the regional client and coordinate the server and faction with friends. A website region label does not move a character to another game server.
- Read the class selection screen and decide whether you prefer close-range combat, ranged damage, healing or group protection.
- Check current account, membership and trading requirements before planning Auction House purchases.
- Choose a character you can maintain rather than creating several alts before you know which limits and progress are shared.
Class rosters can differ with the update available in your region. NC’s July 6 Chapter 1 announcement added Brawler and raised the level cap in that service. An older eight-class screenshot or level-45 route is therefore not a universal description of every client. Start with the options shown when you create your character.
Use our AION 2 class comparison to compare play patterns. Treat damage rankings from another region or patch as context until you can test the current class yourself.
Your First Session: Story, Controls and Inventory
- Complete the tutorial and locate the story tracker, inventory and skill menu.
- Place a defensive action and movement tool on keys you can reach comfortably. Practice them before a difficult encounter.
- Follow the next story objective. Complete nearby side tasks when their rewards or unlocks support the same route.
- Collect accessible exploration markers while passing them, then leave remote cleanup for a planned session.
- Read replacement gear before dismantling or selling items. Use the available lock or protection feature for equipment you want to retain.
- Before logging out, record the next quest, the item or unlock that blocks it, and one useful task for the next session.
Spend Resources on the Current Bottleneck
Choose your next progression task
| What is blocking you? | Useful first check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| A quest encounter is difficult | Your core skills, usable gear and defensive timing | Adjust the build and attempt the mechanic before buying several upgrades. |
| A dungeon cannot be entered | The exact level, Item Level or other requirement on its entry screen | Work on that requirement rather than an unrelated character statistic. |
| An upgrade needs materials or currency | The complete cost and whether the item will be replaced soon | Compare farming, crafting and trading before spending a rare resource. |
| A collection reward is missing | Already completed locations and the next milestone | Plan a route for remaining accessible targets. |
Combat Power and Item Level are separate labels. A higher CP total does not automatically satisfy an Item Level gate. Compare the Combat Power guide with the requirement on the activity you want to enter, and ask support if a service target uses a different label.
Learn a Small Skill Loadout First
Choose a main damage or healing action, its supporting tool and an answer to incoming damage. Read their costs, cooldowns and any available modifiers. Practice the sequence in a repeatable encounter so you can notice an improvement after changing a skill. A long action bar is less helpful than knowing when each important action is safe.
When a skill or progression system opens, inspect the resources it uses and the benefit of the next purchase. Keep enough flexibility to respond to a patch or a different group role. Our skill progression guide explains how to compare upgrades without assuming every regional client has the same breakpoint.
Gear and Trading Habits That Save Time
- Compare the whole item effect, not only its largest number.
- Avoid expensive upgrades on equipment you expect to replace immediately.
- Inspect any transfer feature and its costs before assuming an investment can move to a new item.
- Compare unit prices on traded stacks and check whether the currency or item is actually tradable.
- Keep inventory space for rewards and review each activity’s entry and reward cost before repeating it.
If Kinah is your next bottleneck, read the Kinah farming and trading guide. CFNBoost Kinah delivery uses an Auction House item purchase, requires trading access and an item you can list, and does not require your account login details.
Build a Routine Around Live Timers
Separate expiring rewards, regenerating resources and permanent collections. The activity panel determines whether a limit belongs to a character, account or server. Do not assume that creating an alt resets every allowance, or that all activities share a daily reset. Keep a short session plan rather than copying a full routine that depends on different regional rules.
The daily and weekly checklist helps organize those timers. Use the dungeon comparison guide when deciding between named Expedition clears, a Transcendence stage or Trial difficulty.
When a Service Fits Your Goal
Powerleveling is for the chosen level range and selected extras. Daeva Bundle offers separately described progression packages. Neither the service name nor an optional extra promises every feature in a later regional patch. Confirm existing character progress, access and the exact selected scope before paying; after confirmation, use your dashboard and the assigned PRO’s order chat.

AION 2 Beginner FAQ
First-character questions
Which class should I start with?
Choose the play pattern and group responsibility you enjoy. Compare the available roster in your regional client, then test its controls and basic skills before committing to a costly reroll.
Should I finish every collection while leveling?
Collect nearby accessible targets. Plan remote or locked locations later, after checking remaining progress and the reward you actually want.
Is level 45 always the current cap?
No universal cap is assumed here. Publisher updates have expanded progression; check your regional client. A service’s selected target is its purchased scope, not proof of the game’s current cap.
Does a CP upgrade unlock every dungeon?
No. Read the specific entry requirement, including Item Level when that is the stated gate.
What should I do when I feel stuck?
Name the blocked quest or activity, check its requirements and identify one missing skill, item or resource. Work on that bottleneck before starting several unrelated systems.
