AION 2 Oath Coins: How to Earn Them and What to Buy
Where AION 2 Oath Coins come from, how the Season Shop limits work, the best items to buy in order and what happens to your coins when Season 1 ends.
AION 2 Oath Coins are the season currency you earn from Season Missions and seasonal rank rewards and spend in one place only: the Season Shop. They are bound, they cannot be traded, and Season 1 coins are wiped when the season ends on December 16, 2026. This guide covers where the coins come from, how the shop limits work and the order we buy in so nothing useful is left on the table.
What Oath Coins are in AION 2
Oath Coins are a seasonal, bound currency. You cannot sell them on the Market, mail them to an alt or turn them into Kinah. Their only use is the Season Shop, which you open from the season menu, and the shop's stock is tied to the current season.
That makes them different from currencies that carry over. Abyss Points, Phantasmal Fragments from Nightmare and Centuryroot Tokens from the Shugo Festival stay with you between seasons. Oath Coins do not: each season has its own coin and its own shop, and coins from one season cannot be spent in the next season's shop.
How to earn Oath Coins
Almost every Oath Coin comes from Season Missions, which work like achievements with coin rewards. Each mission pays once when you reach its goal, and many have several tiers that pay more as you go further. The missions are grouped by the content they track:
Where AION 2 Oath Coins come from (Season 1, checked Nov 1, 2026)
| Mission group | What it asks for | How we approach it |
|---|---|---|
| Nightmare | Clearing Nightmare bosses and pushing deeper floors | The biggest single group. Work through the boss list every week and the mission tiers fill on their own. |
| Challenge | General season challenges across your character's progress | Many complete as a side effect of normal play. Check the list weekly for the few that need a specific action. |
| Abyss | Abyss PvP and objectives, from first visits to high kill counts | Steady coins if you already PvP. The top tiers take real time, so pace them across the season. |
| Transcendence | Stages of the Transcendence dungeons such as Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis | Pays out as your gear lets you clear higher stages, so it rewards gearing first. |
| Arena | Arena matches, wins and rank progress | The smallest group, but quick if you queue Arena anyway for Arena Tokens. |
On top of the missions, seasonal game modes pay rank rewards that can include Oath Coins. Those depend on where you finish, so treat them as a bonus rather than something to plan around.
Two habits help most. First, open the Season Missions list once a week and look for tiers that are one or two steps away: those are the cheapest coins you will find. Second, do not leave the big Nightmare and Transcendence tiers for December. They depend on gear and boss clears, and they are the ones players run out of time on.
How the Season Shop works
Every Season Shop item has a purchase limit, and the limit type matters more than the price:
- Per account: most consumables, growth items and crafting materials. The limit is shared by every character on the same server, so buying 20 Amplify Stone Fragments on your alt uses up your main's 20 too.
- Per character: the Talisra Wings and the appearance skins. Each character can buy its own copy.
- Bound: everything you buy is bound, so you cannot resell shop items on the Market.
- Window: the current limits run until the season ends. Once you hit a limit, that item stays locked for the rest of Season 1.
Because account limits are shared, decide early which character the materials are for. In almost every case that is your main, since the upgrade materials matter most where your Combat Power already is.
Best Oath Coin buys, in order
You will not earn enough coins to clear the whole shop, so order matters. This is the order we use for a main character focused on Combat Power. Costs are in Oath Coins and were read from the Season 1 shop.
AION 2 Season Shop priority list (Season 1)
| Priority | Item | Cost and limit | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Amplify Stone Fragment (Unique) | 300 each, 20 per account | Cheap, direct gear progress. 20 of them cost only 6,000 coins in total. |
| 2 | Wrathful Mind, Will or Ego (pick your Dragon Lord line) | 6,250 / 7,500 / 8,750 each, 10 per account | A bottleneck material that is slow to farm. Buy only the one your gear path needs. |
| 3 | Artisan's Ultimate Refining Stone | 4,800 each, 10 per account | High-end enhancement material at a fair coin price. |
| 4 | Philosopher's Stone: Revelation | 30,000 each, 2 per account | Expensive but hard to get anywhere else. |
| 5 | Mysterious Crystal | 25,000 each, 5 per account | Good use of a large coin balance once the items above are bought. |
| 6 | Soul Codex and Rare Theostone Chest | 3,000 / 17,500 each | Leftover-coin buys. Worth it, but only after the core materials. |
| Last | Skins and Talisra Wings | 39,600 to 210,000 | Cosmetic and per character. Buy them only with coins nothing else needs. |
The math explains the order. The first three rows cost roughly 54,000 to 81,500 coins depending on your Wrathful line, Revelation adds 60,000 and five Mysterious Crystals add 125,000. That already passes what most players earn in a season, which is why we never open with a 210,000-coin pair of wings.
If your Combat Power is stuck, our Combat Power guide and gearing guide show where these materials fit in the bigger upgrade plan.
Common Oath Coin mistakes
- Buying on an alt first. Account limits are shared, so an alt's purchase can block your main.
- Saving coins for later. There is no later: Season 1 coins vanish on December 16. Spend as you earn once your priority list is set.
- Buying all three Wrathful materials. Only one Dragon Lord line fits your gear. The other two are wasted coins.
- Starting with cosmetics. A skin set or wings can eat a whole season of coins while your Combat Power stays where it is.
- Ignoring mission tiers. Unclaimed tiers are coins you already earned. Check the mission list before every shopping trip.
What happens to Oath Coins in Season 2
When Season 2 starts on December 16, 2026, you begin with a fresh Season Shop, a new coin and new purchase limits. Your character level, gear and enhancement levels stay, and so do Abyss Points, Phantasmal Fragments and Centuryroot Tokens.
Season 1 rank rewards stay claimable for a while after the season ends, but coins do not wait for you. Plan your last shop visit for the first half of December rather than the final evening, so a maintenance or a late night does not cost you the balance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you get Oath Coins in AION 2?
Mostly from Season Missions, which pay Oath Coins once per mission tier across five groups: Nightmare, Challenge, Abyss, Transcendence and Arena. Seasonal game modes can also pay Oath Coins as rank rewards depending on where you finish.
Do Oath Coins expire in AION 2?
Yes. Oath Coins belong to the season. Season 1 ends on December 16, 2026 at 07:00 UTC, and any Season 1 Oath Coins you have not spent are removed. Season 2 uses a new coin and a new shop.
What should I buy first with Oath Coins?
Start with Amplify Stone Fragments (300 coins each, 20 per account), then the Wrathful material for your Dragon Lord line, Artisan's Ultimate Refining Stones and Philosopher's Stone: Revelation. Mysterious Crystals are next, and skins and wings come last.
Can you trade or sell Oath Coins?
No. Oath Coins are bound and can only be spent in the Season Shop. Items you buy there are bound as well, so they cannot be sold on the Market.
Are Season Shop limits per character or per account?
Most limits are per account and shared by every character on the same server, so a purchase on an alt counts against your main. Wings and appearance skins are limited per character instead.
