AION 2 Arena Guide: Modes, Ranks, Rewards and Caps
How AION 2 Arena works on Global servers: the three modes, unlock, weekly reward caps, Season 1 rank grades and AP rewards, with every unconfirmed number labeled.
AION 2 Arena is the game's instanced PvP: 1v1 Arena of Solitude, team-based Arena of Cooperation and the 10v10 objective mode Arena of Tactics, all reported to open at Level 45 on Global servers. Matches pay Abyss Points, and Solitude and Cooperation also carry a per-class season ladder that grants a PvP buff and a title. Below we cover how each mode works, the weekly caps worth planning around, and which numbers NCSOFT has and has not confirmed.
How AION 2 Arena works
Arena is separate from the open-world Abyss war. You queue into a private instance, fight a short match and leave with Abyss Points (AP). The Abyss PvP guide covers AP, Abyss ranks and gear. This page sticks to the Arena itself.
On Global, the client lists three modes. Two of them, Solitude and Cooperation, are in the Arena menu. The third, Tactics, is in the Battlefield menu. MetaBot reports that all three use 10-minute matches. Those details come from client data and are not confirmed by NCSOFT.
AION 2 Arena modes on Global (client data, not confirmed by NCSOFT)
| Mode | Format | How you win | Lives / respawn |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arena of Solitude | 1v1 | Defeat your opponent the required number of times before time runs out | 3 lives, 5-second respawn |
| Arena of Cooperation | 5v5 | Wipe the enemy team | 1 life each |
| Arena of Tactics | 10v10 | Objective play on the Odyle Shard Cradle map | 10-second respawn |
One part of this is confirmed. NCSOFT's August global preview stream said the 10v10 battleground normalizes stats. Solitude and Cooperation are not described that way, so expect your gear and Combat Power to count there.
Older guides list Cooperation as 4v4, which was the original Korean format. The Games Wiki records the Korean service moving to 5v5 in July 2026. MetaBot reports 5v5 in the Global client.
How to unlock and enter Arena
MetaBot and MetaRoad both put Arena at Level 45, the same level that opens most endgame systems, with no separate quest. MetaBot adds that there is no item level requirement. If the menu is still greyed out at 45, finish the main story step you are on and check again.
- Reach Level 45.
- Open the Main Menu and choose Arena for Solitude or Cooperation, or Battlefield for Tactics.
- Queue, accept the match pop-up and load in. Your cooldowns reset on entry. This was a Korean patch change and still needs checking on Global.
- Play the match out. MetaBot reports that leaving early counts as a loss, and repeated leaving can lock you out of the queue for a while.
Before you queue, set up a separate PvP preset if your class has one. The skill progression guide explains how to plan Stigma and skill levels so you are not swapping everything between PvE and PvP.
Schedules, weekly caps and reset
On Global, Arena has no entry tickets. The weekly reward counters are the real limit. According to client data, you can keep queuing after a counter is full, but those extra matches stop paying the capped reward. MetaBot reports the weekly reset as Wednesday.
Weekly Arena reward caps (reported by MetaBot from the global client)
| Mode | When it runs | Participation rewards / week | Victory rewards / week |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solitude | Any time | 10 | 30 |
| Cooperation | Any time | 10 | 30 |
| Tactics | Daily 11:00–14:00 and 19:00–21:00 (server time) | 3 | 3 |
MetaRoad lists the same Solitude and Cooperation caps. Neither site says which time zone Tactics uses on NA versus EU servers. NCSOFT has not said either. Check the queue timer in-game and treat the hours as approximate.
We fit this into the weekly plan in our daily and weekly checklist. The 3 Tactics wins are the best AP per match, so get them done early in the week. Fill the 30 Solitude or Cooperation wins around your other content.
Season ranks and tiers
Solitude and Cooperation each have a season ladder. Tactics has none. MetaBot reports that Season 1 runs from September 30 to December 16, 2026, that standings are tracked in Rank Points (RP) and refresh hourly, and that grades are given by your position within your class.
Season 1 Arena grades (reported by MetaBot from the global client, not confirmed by NCSOFT)
| Grade | Class rank | Min. RP | PvP buff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Challenger 1 | 1 | 1,800 | 5.0% |
| Challenger 2 | 2–3 | 1,800 | 4.6% |
| Challenger 3 | 4–5 | 1,800 | 4.2% |
| Grand Master | 6–10 | 1,740 | 3.8% |
| Master | 11–20 | 1,680 | 3.4% |
| Diamond | 21–50 | 1,620 | 3.0% |
| Platinum | 51–100 | 1,560 | 2.6% |
| Gold | 101–300 | 1,530 | 2.2% |
| Silver | 301–600 | 1,500 | 1.5% |
| Bronze | 601–1,000 | 500 | 1.2% |
| Iron | Everyone else | 1 | None |
According to MetaBot, the buff boosts PvP damage dealt, PvP damage taken and PvE damage in the Abyss. Only your single highest buff from Abyss rank, Solitude and Cooperation applies, so two Diamond grades do not stack. MetaBot also reports a season-end title for Bronze and above, with no stats on it.
We could not confirm whether a loss takes away RP on Global. Sources differ, and the rating formula is not public. Because every grade above Bronze has a class-rank limit, your grade can drop while you are offline if other players of your class climb past you.
Rewards and what they are for
Every Arena mode pays Abyss Points, and that is why most players queue. MetaBot and MetaRoad both report these payouts from Global client data. NCSOFT has not published them.
- Solitude and Cooperation: 300 AP for playing a match, 500 AP for a win.
- Tactics: 1,000 AP and 1 Silver Medal of Merit for playing, 3,000 AP and 2 Silver Medals for a win.
- Season 1 achievements (MetaBot): extra AP at 30, 70 and 150 matches played and at 20, 50 and 100 wins.
MetaBot lists an Arena exchange shop priced in AP. It sells Potential Stones, Stigma Shards, Daevanion Crystals, enhancement scrolls, Theostone chests, wings, and Decanus and Centurion appearance sets. Centurion pieces also cost Silver Medals, which only Tactics pays out of the three modes. This is why we treat Tactics as the priority each week.
For how AP turns into rank and gear upgrades, see the Abyss PvP guide and the gearing guide. If you only want a set AP total, the Abyss Points service is priced in thousands of points.
Practical tips by role
NCSOFT has not published official Arena balance notes for Global yet. The tips below come from how the modes are built, not from any confirmed numbers. For which classes are strong right now, see our class tier list.
- Melee and tanks (Gladiator, Templar): In 1v1 you have 3 lives and a 5-second respawn, so if you lose the first exchange, reset and don't chase. In 5v5 you get one life, so stay with your healer instead of diving the back line by yourself.
- Ranged damage (Sorcerer, Ranger and similar): Since Cooperation is one life each, staying alive matters more than damage numbers. Use the map to break line of sight, and burst targets your melee has already pinned.
- Healers and support (Cleric, Chanter): The Korean service cut healing in Arena several times in 2026. Global has not announced the same changes, but plan on keeping your team alive with cleanses and crowd control, not just raw healing.
- Everyone in Tactics: Stats are normalized in the 10v10 battleground, so the objective decides the match more than gear. Follow the call, stay with the group on the objective and don't leave early, since leaving counts as a loss.
On the ladder, you only compete against your own class. Before you set a target, look at where your class's top 1,000 sits. A popular class needs more RP for the same grade.
Pushing your Arena rank
The best way to climb is to use all 30 weekly win rewards in your strongest mode, play when you are fresh, and stop for the day after two losses in a row. If you are short on time near season end, CFNBoost's Arena Rank Boost covers ten grades from Bronze to Challenger 1, priced by how many grades you move up. Check how long the season has left before you order, since grades are given out at season end.

AION 2 Arena FAQ
What level do you need for Arena in AION 2?
Level 45, according to MetaBot and MetaRoad. MetaBot reports that you reach Solitude and Cooperation from Main Menu > Arena, and Tactics from Main Menu > Battlefield. NCSOFT has not published a Global unlock notice for Arena.
Is AION 2 Arena Cooperation 4v4 or 5v5?
On Global it is reported as 5v5 in client data. The Korean service started with 4v4 and moved to 5v5 in July 2026, which is why older guides still say 4v4.
How many Arena matches can you play per week?
There is no hard entry limit. Rewards are capped instead. Client data shows 10 participation and 30 victory rewards per week for each of Solitude and Cooperation, and 3 of each for Tactics. After that, matches no longer pay the capped reward.
When does AION 2 Arena Season 1 end?
MetaBot reports December 16, 2026 for the Global Season 1 Arena ladder. NCSOFT has not confirmed the date in an official notice we could find, so check the season timer in-game.
Do Arena rank buffs stack with Abyss rank buffs?
No. Client tooltips quoted by MetaBot say only the highest buff among Abyss, Arena of Solitude and Arena of Cooperation applies.
What can you buy with Arena rewards?
Arena pays Abyss Points, which MetaBot reports buy Potential Stones, Stigma Shards, enhancement items, wings and Decanus or Centurion appearance sets. Centurion pieces also need Silver Medals of Merit from Tactics.
