WoW Midnight Delves Guide: Season 2 Tiers, Loot & Keys

WoW Midnight Delves in Season 2 give 295 Champion loot from Bountiful Delves at Tier 8 and higher, 305 Hero Great Vault rewards from Tier 8, and Hero crests once you reach Tier 11. How Delves work in Midnight Season 2
Delves are short instanced runs for one to five players with an NPC companion. You pick a tier from 1 to 11 when you enter, and the tier sets the enemy health, the affixes and the loot. A normal Delve gives you a chest at the end. A Bountiful Delve also has a Bountiful Coffer that needs a coffer key, and that coffer is where the seasonal gear comes from.
Season 2 started on August 18, 2026 and runs on 12 Delves. Two of them are new this season: The Ring of Glory and Gnarldor Isle. The seasonal nemesis is Azta'rec in Venomfall Deeps, and your companion is Valeera Sanguinar, whose level cap went from 60 to 80.
Patch 12.1.5 added the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan on October 13. It plays like a long Delve with nine rooms, and it counts toward the same Great Vault row. We cover it in its own section further down.
Season 2 Delve loot by tier
Here is the full table for Bountiful Delves. The map column is the Trovehunter's Bounty, which upgrades the loot of one Delve a week. Crests are the base reward per Bountiful run; the number in brackets is the bonus for killing every marked nemesis group inside the Delve.

Two jumps matter most. Tier 7 is where loot moves from Veteran to the Champion track, and Tier 8 is where the vault and the map reach the Hero track. After Tier 8 the gear stays the same and only the crest reward grows.
Which Delve tier should you farm?
Pick the tier from what you need this week. Most players should settle on Tier 8 as soon as they can clear it without a wipe, then move up only when they want Hero crests or the Tier 11 extras.

For scale, the Tier 8 vault matches what a +2 or +3 Mythic+ key puts in the vault (305 Hero 1/6), and Tier 8 loot equals the end-of-dungeon drop from those keys (295 Champion 2/6). A Nightmare Prey hunt gives 292 Champion loot and the same 305 vault. Delves are the solo route to the same weekly ceiling as low keys, and you control the pace.
Coffer keys, Trovehunter's Bounty and the Great Vault
Three things limit how much gear you take out of Delves in a week. It is worth knowing all three before you plan your runs.
- Coffer keys. Each Bountiful Coffer needs a key. Keys are built from coffer key shards that you collect while playing Season 2 content. At Delver's Journey rank 6, Naleidea Rivergleam also sells 2 Restored Coffer Keys a week.
- Trovehunter's Bounty. You can use one map per character per week. It drops from Azta'rec's invasions in other Delves, from Heavy Chests after Bountiful runs, and from the weekly Purging the Vaults quest. Save it for a Tier 8 or higher run so it gives 305 Hero loot.
- Great Vault World row. Delves, the Labyrinth and other world activities fill this row at 2, 4 and 8 completions. Each slot uses the tier of the matching run, so 8 runs at Tier 8 or higher give three 305 Hero choices.
Watch your lowest run: the eighth vault slot uses your eighth-best run, so one Tier 3 clear for a quest can pull that slot down. If you want three Hero options, make sure your best eight runs are all Tier 8 or above.
Azta'rec, the Season 2 nemesis
Azta'rec waits at the end of Venomfall Deeps and also shows up in other Delves through invasions. Those invasions are one of the main sources of Trovehunter's Bounty maps, so killing him when he appears pays off even if you are not chasing his feats.
At Tier 8 and higher, Delves also contain marked nemesis groups. Clear every marked group before the end and you get 5 extra crests of the run's crest type. That is close to doubling the reward at Tier 8, so do not skip them unless the group is close to wiping.
- Beat Azta'rec at Tier 7 for the My Venomous Nemesis feat.
- Beat him at Tier 11 for Purging the Poison and the Poisonous title.
- Solo him at Tier 11 for Let Me Solo Him and the Apophic Soul Crusher reward.
- His first kills also give one-time Hero and Myth crest rewards that ignore any cap.
Valeera and the Delver's Journey
Valeera Sanguinar is your companion for the whole season, and her level goes up as you run Delves. With the cap now at level 80, an alt or late starter should spend a few evenings at low tiers to level her before trying Tier 8.
The Delver's Journey is the seasonal reward track for Delves. It has ten ranks that you earn by running Delves through the season. These are the ranks that change how you farm:

The Labyrinth of Kindo'jan for Delvers
The Labyrinth arrived in 12.1.5 and works like a Delve stretched into nine rooms. It uses the same 11 tiers, with a recommended item level of 309 at Tier 11. You clear the other rooms before the final boss, Kindo'jan, opens up, and you can leave and come back between rooms.
- Every three rooms count as one Delve for the Great Vault, so a full nine-room clear counts as three.
- A one-room run gives one Heavy Trunk. A nine-room run gives six Heavy Trunks and three Bountiful Coffers.
- Three Heroic Soul Fragments from the coffers combine into a random Hero 2/6 Delve item.
- Three Mythical Soul Fragments from Labyrinth quests become a Venerated Loa Armament, which lets you pick a Myth track armor piece.
The Myth track armor is the reason solo players care. Before 12.1.5 Delves gave Myth crests but no Myth gear; now there is a slow path to a Myth piece. Our WoW 12.1.5 guide has the quest chain that unlocks the Labyrinth for your Warband.
A weekly Delve routine for Season 2
This is the order we use on a main that can already clear Tier 8. It takes about three evenings.
- Use your Trovehunter's Bounty first. Run it at Tier 8 or higher so the bonus loot is 305 Hero. If you have no map yet, do Purging the Vaults.
- Spend your coffer keys on Bountiful Delves. Pick Tier 8 for gear or Tier 11 for Hero crests, and clear every nemesis group for the 5 bonus crests.
- Fill the vault to 8. Top up with plain Delves or Labyrinth rooms at Tier 8 or higher. Nine Labyrinth rooms count as three runs.
- Do four Tier 11 clears if you have rank 4. That is 20 Myth crests a week from Gilded Stashes, plus any Venomstones that drop.
- Spend crests the same day. With no cap, crests sitting in your bags do nothing. Upgrade your weapon and trinkets first.
Alts follow the same plan with a lower target. Get Valeera's level up, clear Tier 4 to 6 for quick Veteran gear, then move to Tier 8 once the character reaches the 290s.
