WoW Midnight Raid Guide: Heroic Routes, Loot & AOTC

A useful raid plan starts with the result you want: learning encounters, finishing a chosen boss route, improving your equipment or earning a named achievement. Those goals can overlap, but they are not interchangeable. This guide separates the Midnight Season 2 raid, your preparation, loot expectations and the scope to check before arranging a Heroic run. Reviewed 18 October 2026; use the current in-game Encounter Journal and achievement panel for changes after this date.

Which raid and difficulty are you planning?

Blizzard identifies The Venomous Abyss on the Coiled Isle as an eight-boss Midnight raid for level-90 characters. Its difficulties include Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, Mythic and Story Mode. A clear on one difficulty should not be described as a clear of every difficulty. The newer single-boss raid, The Unbinding of Kith'ix, is a separate activity; an eight-boss package does not automatically include it.

Plan the eight encounters before the group starts

The raid's encounter order covers Nek'zali the Soulcoiler, The Twin Fangs, Entombed Sentinels, Vashnik the Malignant, The Lost Explorers, Sszorak, The Coiled Altar and Ula'tek. Use that list to agree which bosses a partial route includes. A count such as 6/8 is not a substitute for a named route when your main goal is a particular encounter.

Before each pull, check the current Heroic entry in the Encounter Journal. Agree tank responsibilities, positioning, priority targets, interrupts and the response to the mechanics that concern your role. Keep the instructions short enough to act on during combat. A sensible preparation routine is to identify what can kill you, which action is yours and where you move next, rather than memorize a long list without understanding it.

Prepare your character and your session

  • Confirm Retail version, region, character and the named raid before choosing a service or group.
  • Tell the organizer about bosses already completed and any current lockout; check eligibility in the game rather than assuming another run will award another item.
  • Prepare a playable specialization, accessible interrupts and defensives, and the supplies appropriate to your character and the planned session.
  • Agree the start window, expected route and whether you will join on your own character. Keep enough time free for preparation and reasonable recovery between attempts.

An item-level number alone does not describe readiness. Check whether you understand the role you will play and have the access needed by the group. If you want to learn the encounters yourself, ask for instruction and a chance to practice. If you are arranging a defined completion service, verify the included work and participation method before paying.

Loot, gearing and Great Vault are separate decisions

The published CFNBoost Heroic raid offer uses standard group loot. That is a loot rule, not a promise of a specific item, a number of drops or an entire gear set. Consider the result useful only if it advances the goal you actually chose. After the run, review your character and weekly reward progress before paying for another activity.

For an equipment goal, compare a raid session with your dungeon, crafted-item and upgrade options. Save expensive upgrade resources until you have checked the item and your next practical activity. The gearing guide below explains the broader route; the raid order covers only its selected route and extras.

Ahead of the Curve requires the right final boss

The Season 2 achievement Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek requires defeating Ula'tek on Heroic difficulty or higher during Midnight Season 2. An earlier-boss route does not satisfy that condition. Verify the achievement on your character and confirm that the selected service expressly includes its qualifying encounter; the words Heroic run or full clear should not replace that check.

Compare a partial route with a full clear

The current CFNBoost configurator distinguishes a 6/8 Heroic route from an 8/8 full clear. Choose the package that matches your remaining objective, then confirm the active raid and exact boss list before payment. A full-clear choice does not include a Mythic clear, another weekly reset or the separate Kith'ix raid. Piloted and supported Self-play are different arrangements; Self-play adds 20% to the chosen Piloted package. The final configured total is shown before checkout.

After the run: check the result you purchased

Check the completed encounters, the selected difficulty and any achievement you expected. Keep a short note of what remains so your next session has a clear purpose. Track the confirmed order in your dashboard and use its chat after a PRO is assigned to coordinate the work. If the agreed route was not delivered, contact support with the order reference and the missing objective; the Refund & Cancellation policy explains how undelivered work is reviewed.

Sources and review scope

Raid identity and encounter names were checked against Blizzard's raid overview. The achievement condition was checked against Blizzard Armory. Service scope comes from the published CFNBoost configurator reviewed on 18 October 2026. Preparation advice is editorial guidance, not an encounter-by-encounter mechanics walkthrough or a promise of drops. Check updated game information before your scheduled session.
