WoW Midnight Mythic+ Guide: Season 2 Keys & Rewards
Prepare for WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+: eight dungeons, Keystone sources, affix checks, role assignments, rating milestones and timed +10 portals.
WoW Midnight Mythic+ combines a five-player dungeon, a chosen Keystone level and a timed completion goal. A useful plan starts with what you want from the run: learning the route, improving a dungeon result, completing weekly activity or earning a particular seasonal achievement. This guide covers the Season 2 rotation, how to obtain and use a key, affix preparation, role assignments, rating milestones and dungeon portals.
Mythic+ Quick Start
- Get a current Keystone or join a group using another player’s key; the Font of Power starts the run rather than giving you the key.
- Confirm the dungeon, key level, active affixes and whether the group is aiming for a timed clear or completion.
- Agree on the route, key interrupts, cooldowns and recovery plan before activation.
- Complete the required bosses and enemy forces, then review the actual result, rewards and new key.
- Check the separate Great Vault progress and your seasonal dungeon results before planning another run.
Reviewed October 14, 2026 for Retail / Midnight Season 2. Use your current Keystone tooltip and Adventure Guide for the active rules. The preparation tables below are editorial suggestions; they are not a tested fastest route, a universal gear requirement or a loot guarantee.
How to Get a Mythic Keystone
Blizzard lists several sources: completing a Mythic+ run, completing a non-keystone Mythic dungeon from the latest expansion, or collecting your Great Vault after Mythic+ activity in the previous week. Lindormi can provide a key in the latest expansion’s capital near the Vault when you have completed Mythic+ that season. You can hold only one Keystone at a time. Official Keystone sources.
If the key seems missing, search your bags and bank before doing another run. Blizzard also notes that a key looted with full inventory can arrive through the Postmaster. A non-keystone Mythic from an older expansion is not the same qualifying source. Missing-key guidance.
Starting, Timing and Completing the Run
The key holder uses the Font of Power at the relevant dungeon entrance. Activate only after the party is ready. Check the required bosses and enemy-forces counter during the run; reaching the last room alone is not the completion condition.
Read the result before choosing the next run
| Outcome | What changes | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Timed completion | The key upgrades | Inspect the resulting dungeon and level rather than assuming they match your previous key. |
| Completed after the timer | A random-dungeon key one level lower is normally returned | Review the loss of time and choose whether to repeat or change the plan. |
| Dungeon not completed | The same-dungeon key is normally one level lower | Agree on a recovery or a new attempt; an abandoned run is not a completed run. |
| Unexpected key display | A display problem may need troubleshooting | Use Blizzard’s guidance; do not assume support will restore the level. |
Blizzard’s downgrade guidance distinguishes an untimed completion from a dungeon that was not completed, and says the key holder leaving can cause a downgrade. Customer Support does not upgrade, restore or create keys. Official timer and downgrade guidance.
Midnight Season 2 Dungeon Rotation
The official Season 2 rotation contains eight dungeons. Learn the current version of each encounter rather than reusing an older route because the dungeon name is familiar. Blizzard’s Season 2 dungeon list.
The eight current-season dungeons
| Dungeon | Rotation context |
|---|---|
| Altar of Fangs | New Midnight dungeon |
| Murder Row | Midnight |
| Den of Nalorakk | Midnight |
| The Blinding Vale | Midnight |
| Voidscar Arena | Midnight |
| Kings’ Rest | Returning from Battle for Azeroth |
| Temple of Sethraliss | Returning from Battle for Azeroth |
| Ruby Life Pools | Returning from Dragonflight |
Before the first key in an unfamiliar dungeon, review boss abilities in the current Dungeon Journal and identify the pulls you intend to use. A route needs enough required enemy forces as well as a way to reach the bosses. This list establishes the pool; it does not claim a reviewed boss-by-boss strategy for all eight.
Affixes: Check the Actual Key Before the Pull
Midnight’s official launch notes place Lindormi’s Guidance at key levels +2 through +5 and move Xal’atath’s Bargain affixes to +5. At +5, do not assume the learning affix disappears just because a Bargain begins. Guidance marks enemies with Temporal Sands, lowers those enemies’ health and damage by 5%, and lets their defeats satisfy the enemy-forces requirement. It also removes the timer penalty from player deaths while active. Official Midnight affix changes.
Even without that timer penalty, a death can still interrupt a pull, cause a wipe or require recovery travel. Read every active affix shown for the chosen key. For other affix combinations and higher-level effects, use the actual tooltip rather than treating a generic level bracket as a complete current ruleset.
Turn an affix tooltip into a group assignment
| Effect to check | Prepare before the run | During the pull |
|---|---|---|
| A dispellable effect | Name the player with the required dispel type | Call it early and keep the assigned player available. |
| A spawned target or object | Agree who changes target or handles it | Avoid everyone assuming another player will respond. |
| Boss-pressure modifiers | Plan defensives and important damage windows | Keep movement and survivability ahead of a risky extra cast. |
| Non-boss-pressure modifiers | Identify dangerous packs and priority casts | Control the selected pull instead of adding enemies without a plan. |
| A stricter death or failure penalty | Review recovery and battle-resurrection use | Avoid wasting the next attempt on an unchanged mistake. |
Choose a Key Level You Can Learn From
Use recent clears as evidence of readiness. Raise the difficulty when the group understands the route and handles its important mechanics; step down if repeated failures prevent useful practice. An item-level number alone does not establish whether a group can complete a key.
Progress by what your group can do
| Current experience | Useful goal | Reason to adjust |
|---|---|---|
| First visit | Learn boss mechanics and a simple enemy-forces route | You are unsure which casts or enemies matter. |
| Reliable completion | Improve pacing and reduce preventable deaths | The same pull repeatedly consumes recovery time. |
| Repeatable timed clears | Improve a specific dungeon result or achievement target | A harder key adds problems the group has not prepared for. |
| Coordinated push | Review the exact affixes, pulls and cooldown sequence | The group’s utility or available time does not fit the plan. |
Give Every Role a Clear Job
Assignments that prevent avoidable confusion
| Role | Before the key | During the run |
|---|---|---|
| Tank | Explain the route, pulls and important positioning | Keep pacing readable and call when a pull changes. |
| Healer | Check required dispels and plan recovery/external cooldowns | Call incoming pressure and ask for defensive help early. |
| Damage dealers | Assign interrupts, target priorities and available utility | Use defensives, respond to mechanics and avoid accidental extra pulls. |
| Whole party | Agree on resurrection, major cooldowns and a missed-skip plan | Communicate changes briefly and follow the same recovery decision. |
- Name a first and backup interrupter for a priority cast instead of overlapping every interrupt.
- Distinguish an interrupt from crowd control; verify which response works on the particular enemy.
- Know who can provide each needed dispel type rather than assuming the healer can remove everything.
- Use personal defensives as part of planned damage events, not only after health is almost gone.
- Choose a battle-resurrection target that helps recover the encounter; check whether using it is actually safe.
Build a Route Around Forces and Cooldowns
A workable route links required enemies and bosses with the cooldowns and utility your party has. While learning, use a simple route the whole party can follow. A complex skip is only useful if everyone knows how to execute it and what to do when it fails.
Route check before activation
| Check | Why it helps | Fallback |
|---|---|---|
| Required enemy forces | Avoid finding out after the last boss that progress is short | Identify a reachable required pack before the final section. |
| Patrols and pull boundaries | Reduce accidental additional enemies | Pause or split the pull when the safe space changes. |
| Cooldown availability | Avoid arriving at the hardest event with no planned response | Change pacing or use an agreed alternative. |
| Skip requirements | Make sure every player can follow the plan | Know a normal route if the skip fails. |
| Recovery path | Avoid turning one death into another wipe | Call where to regroup and which pull comes next. |
When the Timer Is Slipping
Identify the actual source of lost time: unnecessary enemies, repeated deaths, long recovery or an encounter the group has not understood. More aggressive pulls do not automatically fix a slow run. Make one clear adjustment the group can execute.
Choose a recovery action
| Situation | Useful response |
|---|---|
| A player dies | Stabilize the current pull, then decide whether resurrection helps. |
| A wipe repeats | Name the missed mechanic and change the assignment or pull. |
| The route loses time | Reduce confusion and finish required objectives before improvising a new skip. |
| The timer expires | Agree whether to finish for available rewards and practice; a new personal rating result is not guaranteed. |
| A player must leave | Communicate it clearly; an unfinished key is a different outcome from completion. |
Loot, Crests and Great Vault Progress
Review end-of-run rewards separately from the weekly Great Vault. A completed dungeon is not a guarantee that you personally receive the desired item, and opening more Vault choices does not guarantee a missing slot. Check the displayed weekly threshold and qualifying difficulty before repeating runs for a specific goal.
Before choosing a key for gear, compare its current-season reward display with the separate Vault reward. Record the track and usable upgrade ceiling of the item you receive. Rating targets and portals have their own conditions, so choose the run around the result you actually need.
Mistcrest spending should follow a useful equipment improvement, not an instruction to empty currency before every reset. For track ceilings, set pieces and the staged October refresh, use the Midnight gearing guide.
Season 2 Rating Milestones and Dungeon Portals
Pick the exact achievement you want and review the corresponding condition. Aggregate seasonal rating, a timed dungeon result and a regional end-of-season placement are different goals. Do not treat a rating achievement as automatic credit for every dungeon portal.
Confirmed Season 2 milestones
| Goal | Requirement | Published reward |
|---|---|---|
| Keystone Conqueror | 1,500 seasonal rating | the Venomous title |
| Keystone Master | 2,000 seasonal rating | Breath of Blight mount |
| Keystone Legend | 3,000 seasonal rating | Breath of Ruin mount |
| Keystone Myth | 3,600 seasonal rating | the Venomous Contender title and Timelost Saddle |
| Dungeon portal | Time that Season 2 dungeon at +10 or higher | Access to its dungeon portal |
The Season 2 announcement establishes Conqueror, Master, Legend and the timed +10 portal condition. The 12.1.5 notes specify the 3,600 Keystone Myth target and reward. Check the relevant seasonal achievement in-game for your own progress.
When planning rating, identify a dungeon result you can improve and inspect the rating change actually awarded afterward. Review your current seasonal results before repeating the same difficulty: the useful next run is one that can improve your own record.
A Practical Weekly Mythic+ Plan
- Review your current dungeon results, actual Vault progress and useful gear gaps.
- Choose one main goal for the next session: learning, a better result, weekly activity or a specific timed achievement.
- Select a key and group suited to that goal; allow time for forming the party and recovery.
- Read active affixes and agree on the important assignments before activation.
- Record the result and one improvement to carry into the next run.
- Recheck progress before committing to more runs; avoid repeating content for a reward you have not verified.
No session duration here guarantees a clear or a fixed number of keys. If you need to finish at a particular time, tell the group before starting and include preparation and queues in the plan. The WoW leveling guide covers the earlier character-level route.
Compare the Published Mythic+ Service Scope
CFNBoost’s published Mythic+ service lets you choose a key level and run count. Its recorded scope is standard clears; do not assume that a timed portal, rating target or specific item is automatically included. Read the selected package and current availability before ordering.

Midnight Mythic+ FAQ
Keystones, rewards and preparation
Does the Font of Power give me a Keystone?
No. It is used to start the run with a key. The Keystone-source section lists Blizzard’s current acquisition options and their conditions.
What happens if we finish after the timer?
Blizzard’s normal downgrade guidance returns a random-dungeon key one level lower. An unfinished dungeon normally returns the same dungeon one level lower. Inspect the actual resulting key.
Which dungeons are in Midnight Season 2?
The rotation table above lists all eight official dungeons and distinguishes the Midnight additions from returning dungeons.
Is Lindormi’s Guidance active at +5?
Yes. Midnight’s official notes list it for +2 through +5, while Xal’atath’s Bargain affixes begin at +5. Read all active effects on the key.
Do deaths always subtract time?
Lindormi’s Guidance prevents the direct death timer penalty while active. Deaths can still cost the party recovery time or cause a wipe.
Does my rating unlock every dungeon portal?
No. The published Season 2 portal condition is a timed +10 or higher completion of the particular dungeon. Total-rating achievements are separate.
Do I need a specific class composition?
Choose a group with the utility required by the actual dungeon and affixes. This guide does not claim a tested best-class ranking.
Does a completed key guarantee a useful drop or more rating?
No. Check the loot you actually receive and your actual seasonal result. Repeating a completion does not guarantee the item or rating change you want.
