Destiny 2 Kell’s Fall Guide: Slayer’s Fang & Refits

Find Kell’s Fall, plan Slayer’s Fang crafting and intrinsic upgrades, compare its four Refits and understand Nightsworn Sight and Heart Piercer.

A Guardian enters a grand gothic alien palace with a towering pipe organ, luminous mirror portal and stained glass in purple and amber.

Kell’s Fall is the Exotic mission associated with Slayer’s Fang, a craftable Void Shotgun. Its progression has several different goals: obtain the weapon and Pattern, improve Nightsworn Sight and unlock the Refit effects you want to equip.

Reviewed October 14, 2026. Start with the current Pinnacle Ops mission entry and its reward conditions. This guide explains the weapon progression and loadout choices without treating the original Revenant seasonal quest checklist as a mandatory current route.

Find Kell’s Fall in Pinnacle Ops

Bungie Help lists Kell’s Fall among currently available Exotic missions and classifies them as Pinnacle Ops. Find the named mission in the Director’s Ops area, then inspect your account’s access message, selected difficulty and reward objective. Current Exotic mission guidance.

The mission takes you into Fikrul’s Revenant Fortress, where dark reflections are part of the setting. Bungie’s launch explanation connects its completion to Slayer’s Fang and describes changing dialogue and encounters across the original runs. That is historical context for the mission, not a present reward guarantee for every customized version. Original mission and weapon introduction.

Separate Your Weapon and Upgrade Goals

Progress to check before another run

GoalWhat it suppliesWhere to verify it
Weapon and PatternThe Shotgun and permission to craft it.Weapon inventory, Pattern progress and Shape menu.
Nightsworn Sight upgradesFurther intrinsic options for the crafted weapon. The intrinsic slot at the Relic.
Refit unlocksFour alternative additional effects. The separate Refit slot when reshaping.
Loadout practiceA working firing and perk sequence.Your actual results in the chosen activity.

A mission clear, the first weapon, the highest intrinsic and every Refit are separate results to verify. Check what is already available before arranging a repeat run or selecting a harder objective.

Plan a First Clear and Craft the Shotgun

  1. Open the current Kell’s Fall mission and check access and rewards.
  2. Choose manageable settings for the objective you need.
  3. Agree who will handle encounter instructions and group coordination.
  4. Complete the mission and inspect the weapon or upgrade awarded.
  5. Resolve available Deepsight progress and check the Pattern unlock.
  6. Visit the Enclave’s Relic and Shape your first crafted Slayer’s Fang.

The current official recipe produces Slayer’s Fang and requires the Pattern to be unlocked. A dropped weapon and a crafted copy are different things to inspect when later options appear locked. Current crafting recipe.

Use the Weapon Crafting Guide for Shape, Reshape and Pattern progress. Keep the copy you intend to use while deciding which upgrades to apply.

Prepare the Group Around the Run

For an original preparation plan, give one player responsibility for reading the active objective, keep the group together when the encounter changes and confirm the next phase before spending a damage resource. Do not split the group to chase several optional goals during a first clear.

Use a comfortable weapon for ordinary enemies and keep an appropriate option for damage windows. Once you know where the run becomes difficult, adjust that part of the loadout instead of changing every slot at once.

Released Update 9.7.0.1 fixes a specific final-boss soft lock involving death near the entrance door and respawning outside it. Older reports of that problem should not be repeated as an unresolved universal issue. Released Kell’s Fall correction.

Upgrade Nightsworn Sight Separately

The current recipe contains Nightsworn Sight and its II, III and IV versions. The intrinsic is separate from the Refit slot. Unlocking a Refit does not establish that the highest intrinsic option is available. Current intrinsic choices.

  1. Inspect the intrinsic tier currently available on your crafted weapon.
  2. Choose the mission’s matching upgrade objective.
  3. Claim and check the actual reward after completion.
  4. Return to the Relic and inspect the newly available option.
  5. Reshape the weapon and confirm the intended intrinsic is equipped.

Bungie’s January 2025 launch guide describes four Eido Catalyst quests and Expert completions in the original seasonal flow. Keep that explanation dated: follow the current Pinnacle Ops reward conditions rather than combining old tonic, illusion and organ instructions into an unverified present checklist. Historical Catalyst quest context.

Compare the Four Slayer’s Fang Refits

The current recipe offers Repulsor Brace, Loose Change, Stats for All and Cascade Point Refits as alternatives in one slot. Select a condition that fits your ordinary combat sequence. Current Refit recipe and descriptions.

Refit conditions and practical uses

RefitCurrent effectWhat to test
Repulsor Brace RefitDefeating a Void-debuffed target gives an overshield.Make sure the target is debuffed before its defeat.
Loose Change RefitApplying an elemental debuff improves reload, aim assist and movement while aiming for a short time.Watch the benefit after a qualifying debuff application.
Stats for All RefitHitting three separate targets improves handling, stability, reload and range temporarily.Hit different enemies rather than repeatedly firing into one.
Cascade Point RefitFinal blows or sustained precision hits with another weapon temporarily increase this weapon’s rate of fire.Prepare the condition on another weapon, then switch deliberately.

The names do not make these conditions interchangeable. Repulsor Brace needs a Void-debuffed defeat; Loose Change responds to applying a debuff. Stats for All wants separate targets, while Cascade Point starts from another weapon.

For an original starting comparison, consider Repulsor Brace for a debuff-and-defeat loop or Loose Change when applying debuffs naturally supports your reload and aiming plan. Try Stats for All in fights with several available enemies; compare Cascade Point when your loadout already uses a weapon-switch sequence.

Unlock the selected Refit through the mission’s current Catalyst reward route, then apply it when reshaping. The four choices are not four simultaneous active effects, and this guide does not promise a fixed number of eligible clears for every account.

Understand Nightsworn Sight and Heart Piercer

Nightsworn Sight activates from final blows. While it is active, further final blows grant Truesight, reload speed and precision damage improve, and the submunitions weaken targets. Watch the active state rather than assuming every ordinary hit grants all of those effects. Current intrinsic description.

Heart Piercer makes rounds split into submunitions on impact and is strong against Overload Champions. The current weapon definition identifies Slayer’s Fang as a Void Special-ammo Shotgun. Current weapon and Heart Piercer definitions.

Keep each effect tied to its condition

Action or stateEffect to check
Secure a final blowNightsworn Sight activation.
Secure another final blow while Sight is activeThe described Truesight interaction.
Use submunitions while Sight is activeWeaken on the target.
Choose a Refit for that sequenceIts own separate activation condition.

As a starting practice loop, activate Sight on a suitable target, confirm the buff, then use the next engagement to observe the weakening submunitions and selected Refit. Compare the result with the inactive state before drawing conclusions about your setup.

A released March 2025 update fixes the case where Slayer’s Fang stunned an Overload Champion but failed to stop its continuous regeneration. Use the current intrinsic and released correction rather than presenting that launch issue as the weapon’s normal behavior. Released Overload correction.

Test One Loadout Change at a Time

  1. Confirm the crafted intrinsic and Refit actually equipped.
  2. Choose a manageable activity and one interaction to observe.
  3. Perform the qualifying action and check the buff or result.
  4. Keep the same target type and range while comparing a different option.
  5. Adjust the wider loadout only after identifying what the Shotgun needs.

The Armor Mods Guide explains how to add an ammo, Orb or ability plan. Check the condition of each effect rather than assuming every Void hit grants every Void benefit.

Kell’s Fall and Slayer’s Fang FAQ

Mission, crafting and Refit questions

Where can I find Kell’s Fall now?

Bungie Help lists it among available Exotic missions classified as Pinnacle Ops. Use the current named mission entry and inspect access, settings and rewards.

Which Exotic weapon is associated with Kell’s Fall?

Slayer’s Fang, a craftable Void Special-ammo Shotgun. Its current recipe requires the weapon Pattern before shaping.

Are Nightsworn Sight upgrades the same as Refits?

No. The intrinsic and the Refit occupy separate recipe slots. Check both sets of available options before planning another upgrade reward.

Can I use all four Refits together?

They are alternatives in one Refit slot. Select the unlocked option you want and confirm it on the reshaped weapon.

What does Repulsor Brace Refit require?

Defeat a target that has a Void debuff. The current description gives an overshield from that qualifying defeat.

Does Stats for All activate from three hits on one target?

Its description requires hitting three separate targets. Three repeated hits into one enemy do not match that condition.

How do I prepare Cascade Point Refit?

Use another weapon for qualifying final blows or sustained precision hits, then switch to Slayer’s Fang during the temporary rate-of-fire benefit.

Does the linked coaching service include completing Kell’s Fall?

The linked sessions cover timed build and loadout advice with Self-play included. The current catalogue does not publish a named Kell’s Fall clear or Slayer’s Fang acquisition package.
