Revision Zero is a craftable Kinetic Exotic Pulse Rifle built around precision hits and an alternate high-damage firing mode. Its upgrade path has separate parts: unlock the Pattern, improve Hunter’s Trace and obtain the Refit options you want to use.

Reviewed October 14, 2026. Operation: Seraph’s Shield and its weapon, Catalyst and intrinsic rewards have moved to Pinnacle Ops. Start with that current mission entry rather than an old weekly Exotic Rotator schedule.

Find the Current Seraph’s Shield Mission

Released Update 9.7.0 retires the Exotic Rotator in favor of Pinnacle Ops and specifically moves Operation: Seraph’s Shield with its associated upgrade rewards. Open the Director’s Ops area, find Pinnacle Ops and inspect the named mission before selecting your run. Bungie’s released mission change.

Bungie Help describes Exotic missions as Pinnacle Ops and explains that mission access can depend on the corresponding content or campaign progress. Check the live mission’s access message and reward details on your account. Current activity guidance.

Operation: Seraph’s Shield and Ultimate Conquest: Operation: Seraph’s Shield have separate activity entries in the current definitions. A familiar location does not make every version the same upgrade run. Choose the entry and conditions that state the objective you need.

Separate the Pattern, Intrinsic and Refit

Three different unlocks

UnlockWhat you gainWhere to check it
Weapon PatternPermission to craft Revision Zero.Pattern progress and the Relic’s Shape menu.
Hunter’s Trace upgradesFurther intrinsic options for the crafted weapon. The intrinsic slot when reshaping Revision Zero.
Refit optionsA choice of additional weapon effects. The separate Refit slot in the crafting recipe.

Bungie’s original reward explanation distinguishes a first Deepsight weapon for the Pattern, mission completions for intrinsic upgrades and Legendary completions for Catalyst upgrades. That explanation documents the progression design; its 2023 playlist and difficulty labels are historical. The released move to Pinnacle Ops is the current navigation reference. Original reward structure. Current mission destination.

Before repeating the activity, inspect what is already unlocked. A missing Refit is not proof that your Pattern is missing, and obtaining a Refit does not mean every Hunter’s Trace tier is available. Keep a short list of the remaining objectives.

Unlock and Craft Your First Revision Zero

  1. Find Operation: Seraph’s Shield in Pinnacle Ops.
  2. Check access, selected difficulty and the listed weapon reward.
  3. Complete the eligible mission and inspect the awarded weapon.
  4. Resolve available Deepsight progress and confirm the Pattern unlock.
  5. Visit the Relic at the Enclave and choose Shape for Revision Zero.
  6. Craft a starting setup from the options currently available to you.

If you already have the Pattern, skip the first-unlock goal and check the next intrinsic or Refit objective. A weapon in Collections, an unlocked Pattern and the particular crafted copy in your inventory are different things to inspect.

Keep the copy you intend to use while deciding its upgrades. The Weapon Crafting Guide explains Pattern progress, Shape and Reshape without treating every weapon as the same crafting route.

Improve Hunter’s Trace

The current crafting recipe includes Hunter’s Trace and its II, III and IV versions. Treat this intrinsic progression as a separate task from the Refit slot. After an eligible completion, check the available intrinsic choices at the Relic rather than relying only on a mission-completion toast. Current crafting recipe in Bungie’s manifest.

For an upgrade session, note the intrinsic you have before the run, select the mission reward that advances it and compare the recipe afterward. This makes it easier to tell whether you need another reward, a reshaping action or a different objective.

Update 9.7.0 also fixes an issue that prevented Revision Zero from being reshaped with upgraded intrinsics. Older reports of that problem are not a reason to assume the current upgrade path is permanently broken. Released reshaping correction.

Choose Among the Four Refit Options

The current recipe offers Frenzy Refit, Pressurized Refit, Outlaw Refit and 4-Timer Refit in one separate slot. The names below use their current descriptions; choose the effect around the way you use the weapon. Current recipe and perk descriptions.

Revision Zero Refit choices

RefitDocumented effectA reason to consider it
Frenzy RefitRapid defeats progressively improve reload speed for a short period. You often finish several ordinary enemies in succession.
Pressurized RefitStability and accuracy improve as the magazine becomes lower. You want support while using the remaining rounds.
Outlaw RefitPrecision defeats reduce reload time. You consistently finish enemies with precision hits.
4-Timer RefitRapid precision hits return two rounds to the magazine. You can maintain repeated precision hits on a target.

Frenzy Refit is a rapid-defeat reload effect. Do not read its name as a promise that it grants the standard Frenzy damage perk. Likewise, 4-Timer’s precision-hit condition is different from Outlaw’s precision-final-blow condition.

Unlock the desired option through the mission’s current Catalyst reward route, then select it when reshaping. These are choices in one Refit slot, not four effects to assume are active simultaneously. Check the crafted weapon after applying the change.

For an original starting comparison, try Outlaw when ordinary precision defeats come naturally and 4-Timer when you can repeatedly hit a sturdy target’s precision spot. That is a playstyle comparison rather than a universal best-roll ranking.

Choose Two-Round or Four-Round Bursts

Revision Zero has two Häkke firing choices. Light Burst Fire uses a stable four-round burst. Heavy Burst Fire uses a less stable two-round burst with higher-damage, longer-range rounds. These burst choices are separate from the alternate high-damage scope. Current firing-mode descriptions.

Three firing decisions to keep separate

ModeWhat to practice
Light Burst FireTrack the target through a four-round burst.
Heavy Burst FireControl the two-round burst and compare its feel at your usual range.
Hunter’s Trace alternate scopeBuild targeting data first, then choose a useful high-damage shot.

Compare both burst settings with the same target, range and activity. Watch which one lets you land useful precision hits comfortably. Changing several perks and the burst setting at once makes it harder to learn what improved the result.

Use Targeting Data and the Alternate Scope

Hunter’s Trace grants targeting data from precision hits. The alternate weapon action switches to a scope that loads high-damage rounds according to the data collected. Its current description also gives those rounds impact shockwaves that exhaust targets. Current Hunter’s Trace description.

  1. Use the ordinary burst mode to land precision hits.
  2. Watch the targeting-data state as you fight.
  3. Choose a target and a clear firing position for the alternate shot.
  4. Use your assigned alternate weapon action to switch modes.
  5. Spend the high-damage rounds deliberately and return to the normal combat loop.

Use the action shown in your own controller or keyboard settings. Avoid assuming that another player’s binding or a screenshot from an older guide matches your controls. Practice the transition in manageable content before depending on it during a difficult encounter.

The intrinsic describes shield-piercing ammunition that is strong against Barrier Champions. Build the rest of the loadout around the actual encounter’s needs; a single weapon’s capability does not complete every part of your activity plan. Current intrinsic and weapon definitions.

Check Progress Before Another Run

If an option is missing, check four separate things: the Pattern, the weapon’s current recipe choices, the mission version and the displayed reward objective. Compare them before selecting a harder run or repeating one that is already complete.

Do not combine the old seasonal quest instructions, dead-Exo searches and old Rotator difficulty names into a mandatory current checklist. Follow the current Pinnacle Ops reward route for this weapon. The article does not claim every custom difficulty or modifier gives identical upgrades.

Seasonal gear is a different reward goal. Update 9.7.0 places former Rotator seasonal rewards behind the Classic Collector modifier on Pinnacle Ops versions. Keep that choice separate from your Revision Zero Pattern, intrinsic or Refit objective. Released legacy-reward change.

Revision Zero FAQ

Unlocks, crafting and firing modes

Where do I find Operation: Seraph’s Shield now?

Released Update 9.7.0 moves it and its weapon, Catalyst and intrinsic rewards into Pinnacle Ops. Use that current entry rather than an old weekly Exotic Rotator schedule.

Is Revision Zero craftable?

Yes. Unlock its Pattern, then use Shape at the Enclave’s Relic. Use Reshape to select later options on the crafted weapon.

Are Hunter’s Trace upgrades the same as Refit unlocks?

No. They occupy separate recipe slots and serve different purposes. Check which intrinsic and Refit choices are available before planning the next mission reward.

Can I use all four Refits together?

The current recipe offers the four Refits as alternatives in one slot. Choose and apply the effect you intend to use rather than assuming all four are active.

Does Frenzy Refit give the normal Frenzy damage perk?

Its current description is a reload-speed benefit from rapid defeats. Do not assume a standard Frenzy damage effect because the names sound similar.

What is the difference between the two burst settings?

Light Burst Fire uses four lightweight rounds in a stable burst. Heavy Burst Fire uses two higher-damage, longer-range rounds with less stability. The alternate high-damage scope is a separate action.

How do I prepare the alternate high-damage rounds?

Land precision hits to collect targeting data, then use the alternate weapon action shown in your control settings. The data determines the loaded high-damage rounds.

Does the coaching card include unlocking Revision Zero?

The linked sessions cover timed build and loadout advice with Self-play included. The current catalogue does not publish a named Revision Zero unlock or Catalyst package.
