Destiny 2 Titan Builds: PvE Roles, Stats & Exotics

Choose Titan PvE starting kits for Solar, Void, Arc and Stasis. Understand current armor stats, Exotic conditions and build-coaching session options.

Game:Destiny 2GuidesPublished: By CFNBoost
A broad-shouldered armored Destiny Titan braces behind a translucent void shield, solar hammer at the hip, strong defensive silhouette.

A Titan build should help you control a fight without losing the ability to perform the encounter’s next task. Decide whether you need a Solar ability cycle, a movable team-support position, an Arc melee attack or Stasis control. Then select the equipment that supports that job instead of starting with a universal stat checklist.

Reviewed October 14, 2026. This guide offers four original PvE starting kits based on released ability changes and current Exotic descriptions. They are practical choices to learn, not measured damage rankings or a promise that one loadout is strongest everywhere.

Four Titan PvE Starting Kits

Choose the task you want to improve

TaskSubclass and ExoticMain decision to practice
Solar abilities and Barricade playSunbreaker · Hallowfire HeartWhen to build the ability loop and when to spend your Super.
A shared team positionSentinel · Helm of Saint-14Where to place the Ward and when the group needs it moved.
A controlled melee attackStriker · Point-Contact Cannon BraceWhether the position allows time to charge Thunderclap.
Stasis Lance playBehemoth · Cadmus Ridge LancecapHow to use the Lance while keeping the next route open.

Use the kit that answers a recurring problem in your activity. A close-range attack is a poor fit if you cannot reach the target reliably. A support position needs coordination if the team moves often. Practice the relevant action before buying upgrades for every armor slot.

Current Titan Stats: Class Is Not Health

The armor overhaul changed both names and effects. Health and Class replace the old Resilience and Recovery labels; the old “Resilience first” recommendation is not a current Barricade-cooldown plan. Stats scale per point, with additional benefits above 100 through 200. Released armor-stat definitions.

Choose stats for the action you use

StatEffect to inspect in the current tooltip
ClassClass-ability recharge and external energy gains; higher investment adds an on-cast Overshield.
HealthOrb-pickup healing, flinch resistance and higher-investment shield benefits.
MeleeMelee recharge and external energy gains, then melee damage above 100.
GrenadeGrenade recharge and external energy gains, then grenade damage above 100.
SuperSuper energy gains and damage benefits; it does not reduce the base Super cooldown.
WeaponsReload, handling and PvE damage benefits; inspect your actual investment.

For a Barricade-centered kit, inspect Class rather than treating Health as its recharge stat. For a Thunderclap plan, consider the Melee effect you need. Keep weapon comfort and survival in the comparison instead of forcing the same maximum-stat pattern onto all four kits.

Sunbreaker with Hallowfire Heart

Suggested kit: Hallowfire Heart, Shieldburst and a Solar Super. Try either Roaring Flames or Sol Invictus as your other Aspect after reading their current interaction. Select a grenade and melee that you can use from the positions the encounter allows.

With a charged Solar Super, ability final blows grant Cure and Sunfire Furnace stacks. Active stacks improve grenade/class recharge and Super damage; grenade and Shieldburst final blows ignite targets. Exiting the Super converts stacks to Super energy. Current Hallowfire Heart perk.

Shieldburst adds different Barricade behaviors: Towering advances before stopping, while Rally supports scorching rounds. Activating the class ability again detonates the deployed Barricade. Bungie describes compatibility with Roaring Flames or Sol Invictus. Shieldburst design and pairings.

  1. Select Towering or Rally for the position and weapon plan you intend to use.
  2. Check whether the Super and Sunfire Furnace conditions are active.
  3. Choose the detonation moment without removing cover the team still needs.
  4. After using the Super, inspect the new energy and buff state before repeating the sequence.

Class and Grenade are relevant investments to compare when the Barricade and grenade are doing most of the work. Avoid turning “keep the Super charged” into a rule that prevents you from using it when the encounter needs it. Practice both parts of the cycle.

Sentinel with Helm of Saint-14

Suggested kit: Helm of Saint-14 and Ward of Dawn, with the rest of the Sentinel choices selected for your team’s positioning and combat tasks. Agree the intended Ward location and who will make the call to reposition it.

The reworked Ward contains a destructible core; its owner can move it up to twice. Allies inside receive Weapons of Light. A destroyed core ends the Ward, so relocating it and keeping it intact are part of the task. Released Ward of Dawn rework.

Helm of Saint-14 keeps Weapons of Light after leaving the Ward. While that buff is active, final blows or sustained damage build The Saint; Void and Kinetic damage also create a suppressing burst. Picking up the Ward consumes the stacks to extend its duration. Current Starless Night perk.

Coordinate the Ward instead of placing it automatically

MomentTeam decision
Before castingChoose a location that supports the team’s next action.
During the phaseKeep a caller responsible for whether the position is still useful.
When movingTell the group before changing the shared position.
AfterwardCheck the actual buff and Ward state before relying on another cycle.

A support kit does not make the group immune to every attack or remove encounter responsibilities. If teammates keep leaving the useful area, discuss placement and timing before deciding that more armor stats will solve the problem.

Striker with Point-Contact Cannon Brace

Suggested kit: Point-Contact Cannon Brace and Thunderclap, with an Arc setup that provides a usable approach and exit. Pick your grenade, second abilities and weapons to cover the moments when charging a melee is impractical.

Thunderclap defeats restore melee energy. Nearby targets suffer lightning strikes and Jolt when you use Thunderclap, and Amplified increases the lightning damage. Current Hammer of the Gods perk.

The June update added lightning during the windup and made its damage respond further to charging time. A longer charge is an option to evaluate, not a reason to stay exposed while an enemy closes the gap. Released Cannon Brace changes.

  1. Choose a position where the intended target is reachable.
  2. Decide whether there is time to charge or whether another action is needed.
  3. Check the actual melee energy returned after the attack.
  4. Keep a weapon or route ready for a target that survives or moves away.

Melee investment belongs in this comparison, but reaching the target and finding time to act come first. If the same approach fails repeatedly, change the approach before treating every failure as an insufficient damage stat.

Behemoth with Cadmus Ridge Lancecap

Suggested kit: Cadmus Ridge Lancecap on Behemoth with Glacial Quake, Diamond Lance and a second Aspect chosen for your intended Stasis loop. Try a Stasis weapon you already handle well and check the active Frost Armor state.

The released June changes add Lance creation from rapid Stasis weapon damage and final blows away from Rally Barricade. Lance damage also benefits from current Frost Armor stacks. Released Lancecap changes.

  1. Confirm which of your attacks is producing the Lance.
  2. Choose a useful target instead of throwing immediately without a plan.
  3. Track the defensive state while moving to the next position.
  4. Keep an alternative attack for enemies that do not react as expected.

Use the kit to practice managing the space around the team. Do not treat the presence of a Lance or defensive buff as proof that it is safe to stand still. Inspect Class, Grenade and Weapons according to which part of your selected loop needs improvement.

Armor Rolls and Defensive Buffs

Armor 3.0 set bonuses activate from two or four matching pieces, and Masterworking improves the lowest three stats rather than adding equally to all six. Inspect the equipped result and the exact set bonus before changing a piece solely for its larger stat total. Released armor-system rules.

Treat each defensive effect as a condition to track. Note what applies it, what refreshes it and when it disappears. A build that works when enemies are close together may need a different rhythm when the team is traveling or waiting for an encounter mechanic.

Choose compatible armor mods after deciding which ability cycle you actually use. Test whether the chosen trigger occurs during ordinary play. Keep one saved version while changing another so you can compare the result without trying to reconstruct an earlier setup from memory.

Keep PvE and PvP Preparation Separate

The current released rules disable Artifact mods in Trials and competitive Crucible. Multi-charge abilities also start with one charge in PvP matches. Do not copy a PvE opening sequence and assume the same starting state in a match. Released PvP restrictions.

For PvP, prepare around your weapon control, available cover and actual ability timing. For Prismatic or Berserker, inspect that subclass’s available tools and Exotic triggers separately; sharing an attack or defensive effect does not transfer an entire Sunbreaker or Sentinel kit unchanged.

Titan Builds FAQ

Abilities, stats and session scope

Which Titan kit should I start with?

Choose the recurring task you want to improve: Solar abilities, a shared Ward position, Thunderclap execution or Stasis Lance play. These are starting choices, not a universal performance ranking.

Is Health the current Barricade recharge stat?

Inspect Class for the class-ability recharge effect. The old Resilience-first instruction should not be used as a current Barricade-cooldown plan.

Should Hallowfire Heart stop me from ever casting my Super?

No. Learn the charged-Super conditions and decide when the encounter needs the Super spent. Inspect the new state afterward rather than following an unconditional hold-it-forever rule.

Can I ignore positioning while using Ward of Dawn?

No. Agree a useful shared location and the call for repositioning. Team responsibilities and the Ward’s actual state still matter.

Should I always fully charge Thunderclap?

Choose the charge opportunity from the position and incoming threat. A longer charge is not automatically useful when you cannot remain there safely.

Are these tested DPS or Flawless rankings?

No. The kits are original editorial starting points supported by dated released changes and item descriptions. No measured ranking, guaranteed clear or PRO recording is claimed.

Will a coaching discussion unlock an Exotic for me?

The timed discussion covers advice while you participate. It does not include new equipment, an automatic raid clear or a specific random reward.

Is another Self-play fee added to coaching?

No. These coaching sessions are already priced for Self-play. The separate 20% boosting participation surcharge is not applied.
