VALORANT Hush at a glance: released 27 October 2026 in patch 13.09, Duelist Agent 31 from Guangdong, abilities Displacement, Flashbulb, Flow and the Suspension ultimate, plus the Telekinesis passive.

VALORANT Hush is Agent 31, a telekinetic Duelist who went live with patch 13.09 on 27 October 2026. Every one of her abilities can be thrown, held and redirected, or steered in the air, and her passive lets her grab guns and the Spike from range. This guide covers what each ability does, how to unlock her, how she fits the Act 6 ranked changes and how we would actually play her in the first weeks.

Hush at a glance. Details and sources are in the sections below.

Who Hush is and when she arrived

Riot describes Hush as a Chinese operative who uses telekinesis to close classified cases, redirecting her utility in mid-air to disrupt and displace the enemy team before suspending them for the kill. She is the newest Duelist, so her job is the familiar one: create space, take the first fight and make the entry easier for the four players behind her.

She was revealed with a cinematic during the VALORANT Champions Shanghai grand final day (18 October, as reported by Sheep Esports) and went live on 27 October 2026 with patch 13.09. That patch also added her to every queue at once, so you will meet her in ranked from day one even if you have not unlocked her yet.

Hush abilities explained

The common thread is control after the throw. Three of her four abilities can either be thrown straight away or prepared with alt fire and then redirected with reactivate towards your crosshair, which lets you bend utility around corners instead of lining it up perfectly first.

Hush ability kit (Riot patch notes 13.09)

AbilitySlot (community-listed)What it does
TelekinesisPassivePicks up weapons, the Spike (attacking side) and interacts with switches from an increased range.
FlashbulbQThrow it, or prepare it with alt fire and redirect it. Explodes on any surface or after a delay, flashing everyone looking at it.
DisplacementEThrow or prepare and redirect. Explodes on a surface or after a delay, pulling all players to the centre; anyone who collides with a surface or another player is concussed. Resets every two kills.
FlowCInstantly creates an anchor. If Hush is airborne she briefly levitates, then after a delay propels towards the anchor.
SuspensionX (ultimate)Instantly prepared. Fire sends it forward, steered by your crosshair; reactivate or fire again to detonate, levitating all players caught.

Two details matter more than they look. Displacement pulls every player, not only enemies, so a careless throw can drag a teammate into the same wall as the enemy. And Suspension levitates all players in its blast, which is why the call before you detonate it should be as clear as any Breach or KAY/O ultimate call.

How to play Hush: practical tips

These are our first-week habits from how the kit reads on paper and in early games. Expect the pros to refine them quickly.

  • Throw Displacement at cover, not at people. The concuss only lands when a pulled player collides with a surface or another player, so aim it so the pull drags defenders into a box, wall or each other. Two enemies stacked on one angle is the ideal target.
  • Use the reset. Displacement comes back every two kills, so a good entry can chain it. Do not hold it for the perfect moment if your team is about to trade: use it, take the fight and earn it back.
  • Prepare, then redirect Flashbulb. Alt fire lets you hold the flash and steer it with reactivate, which makes off-angle flashes possible from a safe spot. Call it for your team, because it blinds anyone looking at it.
  • Set Flow before you peek. Flow creates its anchor instantly and propels you back after a delay, so drop it in safety first, then swing. If the fight goes badly, the anchor is your exit; if you are airborne you hover briefly first, which can throw off an enemy's crosshair but also makes you a target.
  • Let Telekinesis save rounds. Picking up the Spike or a dropped Operator from a longer range means fewer deaths on exposed pickups. On attack it is the safest way to recover a dropped Spike near an angle.
  • Treat Suspension as a retake or post-plant tool. It is steerable after you fire it, so you can guide it onto a stacked site or the defuser. Detonate when your team is ready to shoot, not as a solo play.

How to unlock Hush

Riot's patch notes do not include unlock details, so this section follows what esports press reported at the reveal; check the Agents tab in your client for the live options.

  1. Free through her recruitment event: earn XP from matches during the limited event to unlock her without spending currency (reported by Sheep Esports).
  2. Kingdom Credits: reported at 10,000 KC, the in-game currency you earn by playing.
  3. VALORANT Points: reported at 1,000 VP through the agent contract.
  4. PC Game Pass / Xbox Game Pass: an active subscription linked to your Riot account reportedly unlocks her as well.

If you plan to play her seriously, unlock her early in the event so your first ranked games on Hush are not your first games on Hush. Swiftplay and unrated are the cheapest places to learn how far Displacement pulls.

Riot also made Haste an official term for movement speed buffs (now shown on Brimstone's Stim Beacon, Clove's Pick-me-up, Miks's Harmonize and Neon's High Gear and Overdrive) and named Cypher's silhouette reveal Snapshot. The Clove changes are the ones you will feel: her self-revive now gives the enemy who finishes her a reward, so trading onto a revived Clove is worth more than before.

Hush in ranked: Act 6, Map Rating and Performance Score

Hush lands two weeks into Act 6, which started with patch 13.08 on 13 October. That patch added Bind and Corrode to Competitive and Deathmatch and removed Ascent and Split, and Corrode itself got shorter defender rotations and a reworked mid.

Act 6 also introduced Map Rating: a private 0 to 500 score with a C to S letter grade per map, built from your overall, attack and defence win rates plus Performance Score, with recent matches weighted more. Everyone started from zero, so the first weeks of the Act shape your ratings most. In 13.09 your Act Best Match now counts for more.

The practical warning is Riot's own: Hush is the first new agent since Performance Score launched, so early scores on her may be less consistent. If you care about your rating, we would learn her in unrated first and bring her into ranked on the two or three maps where your team actually needs a second entry.

Should you main Hush?

Pick her up if you already play an entry Duelist and like utility that rewards aim and timing more than lineups. Her kit gives you a pull, a flash and an escape in one agent, so she can open a site without a second initiator. Skip her for now if you mostly solo queue and rely on a self-sufficient kit such as Reyna's, because Displacement and Suspension are strongest when someone follows up on the players you move.

Whatever you pick, play her for at least a few unrated sessions before ranked. New agents also get balance passes in their first patches, so expect numbers to change; we will update this guide when Riot adjusts her.

Frequently Asked Questions

When was Hush released in VALORANT?

Hush went live on 27 October 2026 with VALORANT patch 13.09, two weeks after Season 2026 Act 6 started with patch 13.08.

What role is Hush in VALORANT?

Hush is a Duelist. Riot's agent page lists her as a Chinese operative who uses telekinesis to disrupt and displace enemies before suspending them for the kill. She is Agent 31 in release order.

What are Hush's abilities?

Her passive Telekinesis picks up weapons, the Spike and switches from range. Flashbulb is a redirectable flash, Displacement pulls players together and concusses anyone who hits a surface or another player (it resets every two kills), Flow creates an anchor you propel back to, and her ultimate Suspension is a steerable orb that levitates every player it catches.

How do I unlock Hush for free?

Riot's patch notes do not list unlock details. At her reveal, esports press reported a limited recruitment event where you earn XP from matches to unlock her for free, with Kingdom Credits, VALORANT Points and an active Game Pass subscription as alternatives. Check the Agents tab in your client for the current options.

Is Hush good in ranked?

It is too early for a reliable verdict. Riot itself warns that Performance Scores on Hush may be less consistent at first because she is the first agent added since that system launched. We suggest learning her in unrated and only bringing her into ranked on maps where your team needs a second entry.

What maps are in the Act 6 competitive pool?

Patch 13.08 added Bind and Corrode to Competitive and Deathmatch and removed Ascent and Split. Patch 13.09 made no further map pool changes.
