Piloted or Self-play? How each boosting method works, what it costs, whether you share your login and which one fits your goal.

When you order a boost you usually choose how it is done: Piloted, where a PRO plays on your account, or Self-play, where you play your own character in the PRO's group. Both reach the same goal, but they differ in price, in how much of your time they take and in whether you share your login. This guide explains each method, when it makes sense and how it works on CFNBoost.

Piloted vs Self-play infographic: Piloted means a PRO plays your account while you are offline at the base price; Self-play means you play with the PRO on your own character, no login shared, usually 20% more.

What is Piloted boosting?

With Piloted boosting, a PRO logs in to your account and plays your character at the times you agree in order chat. You stay logged out while the PRO is playing, then log back in to find the progress done. It is the right choice when the goal takes many hours, such as leveling, farming currency or collections, or when you simply do not have time to play.

  • Your time: none during the sessions.
  • Price: the base price shown on the service page.
  • What you share: login details for the game account, sent only through your private order chat.
  • Best for: powerleveling, farming, reputation and collection goals, long progression routes.

What is Self-play boosting?

With Self-play, you stay in control of your character. You log in at the agreed time and join the PRO's group, and the PRO leads the run while you play alongside. You keep your login to yourself and see every step happen, which is why many players choose it for raids, dungeons and rank goals they want to experience themselves.

  • Your time: you need to be online for each run or session.
  • Price: on most CFNBoost services Self-play adds 20% to the Piloted price, because the run is scheduled around you and takes a PRO's group time live.
  • What you share: nothing; you play on your own account.
  • Best for: raid and dungeon clears, Mythic+, boss kills, ranked games with a PRO teammate and item handovers in a raid.

Which one should you choose?

  1. Short on time? Choose Piloted. The work happens while you are offline.
  2. Want to keep your login private? Choose Self-play where the service offers it.
  3. Want to see the content yourself? Choose Self-play for raids, dungeons and bosses you want to experience.
  4. Long grind such as 1-60 or currency farming? Piloted is usually the only practical option and costs less.
  5. Not sure? Ask in chat before you order; support can tell you which methods a service supports and how the schedule would look.

How it works on CFNBoost

Each service page shows its Completion Method next to the price. Pick Piloted or Self-play there and the total updates before you pay. After payment, a PRO is assigned and your private order chat opens, where you agree the schedule. For Piloted orders, share your login only in that chat, never by email or a direct message from someone you do not know, and stay logged out while your PRO plays. If your account uses an authenticator, agree with your PRO how login approvals will work.

Some services work differently: currency is delivered by trade, mail or the auction house, coaching is always played by you, and some item deliveries happen in a raid with you present. You can cancel for a full refund before your PRO starts work; the Refund & Cancellation Policy explains what happens after work has started.

Tips for either method

  • Change your password after a Piloted order is complete.
  • Keep your character free of other plans during Piloted sessions so the PRO is not interrupted.
  • For Self-play, be online a few minutes early with repairs, consumables and the right specialization ready.
  • Write your goal and any limits in order chat, for example which items not to sell or which zones to avoid.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Self-play more expensive than Piloted?

On most CFNBoost services that offer both, Self-play adds 20% to the Piloted price. The configurator on each service page shows the exact total for the method you choose.

Do I need to share my password for Self-play?

No. In Self-play you play on your own account and join the PRO's group, so you never share your login.

Can I play my account while a Piloted order is running?

Not during the agreed sessions. Stay logged out while your PRO plays and agree the schedule in order chat so you know when you can play.

Do all services offer both methods?

No. Leveling and farming are usually Piloted, some raid and item services are Self-play, and many offer both. Each service page lists the supported methods.

Can I switch from Piloted to Self-play after ordering?

Ask in order chat before work starts. Changing the method can change the price and the schedule, and support confirms the change before it applies.
