Destiny 2 Salvation’s Edge: Encounters & Raid Guide
Learn Salvation’s Edge’s five encounters, Verity shapes and Witness mechanics. Compare Normal, Master, Flawless and Witness-only service objectives.
Salvation’s Edge has five encounters: Substratum, Dissipation, Repository, Verity and the Witness at Zenith. The opening fights teach plate timing and Resonance, Verity tests shape and player recognition, and the final boss combines hand mechanics with movement during damage.
Reviewed October 15, 2026. This compact Normal-route guide covers the main actions and preparation for a six-player team. Master, challenge and Flawless goals need additional conditions; use the selected objective rather than assuming one clear includes them all.
Access and Team Preparation
Check the live raid launch card for your content access, unlock progress, difficulty and equipment requirements. - Choose a caller and agree simple room and shape names.
- Build for survival and reliable enemy control before chasing a damage number.
- Prepare damage equipment for the Herald and Witness, with enough ammunition for recovery.
- Inspect your chosen equipment’s current Champion coverage and the launch modifiers.
- Explain which player handles each interaction and when the group should wait.
Five-Encounter Route
Plan the next checkpoint
| Encounter | Preparation focus |
|---|---|
| Substratum | Two route groups; consistent timing and a clear return call. |
| Dissipation / Herald | Three pairs; clear communication before regrouping. |
| Repository | Check the new room before repeating the last assignment. |
| Verity | Distinct identities and one agreed vocabulary for shapes. |
| Zenith / Witness | A caller who prioritizes movement during damage. |
Substratum
- Begin by depositing the opening Resonance, then split into two groups of three through the available doors.
- Clear the room routes, including the Keepers. Return to the middle for each spawned Tormentor, then repeat until both starter plates are powered.
- Pair each powered plate with its open conductor. Time the return step to the shrinking ring and bounce energy to create Resonance.
- Collect no more than three stacks. The closer shoots the conductor’s glowing node while the pulse approaches, then returns the pulse to lock it.
- Close both conductors, defeat the central Subjugator and deposit remaining Resonance to restore time.
- Repeat for three completed cycles. If a missed bounce locks a circuit, defeat its Subjugator before restarting it.
Jonathan LoChiatto’s firsthand Substratum walkthrough.
Dissipation: Herald of Finality
- Shoot the central Blight to start and assign a pair to each of the three wings.
- Clear the wing enemies and miniboss. Players with Call to Reckoning move to the Herald, clear active Blights and damage his head to gain the conductor-reading buff.
- Read each required shape and relay it to the partner. Bounce plate energy to generate Pyramidal and Spherical Resonance.
- Make the last Resonance pickup match your conductor’s required shape. Close all three conductors and deposit the remaining stacks.
- Gather for Herald damage, keep recovery available and repeat the setup if needed. Save a coordinated burst for his final stand.
Jonathan LoChiatto’s firsthand Dissipation walkthrough.
Repository
- Split into three plate pairs. Assign Tormentor final blows to the players who will read and close conductors.
- Generate Resonance, read the required conductor shapes and coordinate who moves to which destination.
- Close all three conductors, then deposit the remaining Resonance when the chest becomes available.
- Clear the rear Champion and move through the opened route. Repeat through three rooms.
- Trace the actual wires again in each new room: later connections cross. Do not assume the plate directly ahead is your partner.
Jonathan LoChiatto’s firsthand Repository walkthrough.
Verity
- Before starting, identify each Guardian’s armor and Ghost. Three players are moved into separate rooms.
- Call the statues’ held shapes from left to right. Inside players trade Knight-dropped shapes through the corresponding statues.
- One workable distribution is to gather your own statue’s shape, then send one to each other player. Confirm everyone’s required shapes before combining a key.
- Each inside player needs the two shapes absent from their statue. Outside, dissect pairs of shapes between statues to create the matching solid.
- During forced Ghost rescues, use spectator callouts to return each Ghost to the correct podium.
- Reunite after both sides are ready, complete the larger rescue sequence and repeat for three cycles.
Jonathan LoChiatto’s firsthand Verity walkthrough.
Zenith: Defeat the Witness
- Assign runners to the hand mechanics while teammates control enemies.
- Enter a hand’s marked attack area and shoot its bracelet to reveal the required Resonance. Acquire that type elsewhere, then briefly return and break the original bracelet.
- Use Glyphbreaker from the center light to destroy a chest glyph. Clear the resulting enemy pressure while runners prepare the next.
- For the Witness’s test, remove excess nodes to leave the attack shape of the most recently destroyed hand. Jump for the following slam cue.
- After all six glyphs break, damage from the raised platform while dodging the telegraphed sweeps and jumping the slam.
- Leave when the platform phase ends, repeat if needed and commit remaining damage during final stand.

Verity Shape Check
The two missing shapes form your exit key
| Your statue holds | Required pair | Matching solid |
|---|---|---|
| Circle | Triangle + square | Triangular prism |
| Triangle | Circle + square | Cylinder |
| Square | Circle + triangle | Cone |
Use this as a final readiness check with the inside and outside players. Have one person confirm the callout and a second confirm the completed state before the team attempts to leave. Shape names and the visual object should agree. Firsthand shape explanation.
Witness Bracelet Reference
Read the revealed bracelet cue
| Bracelet color | Required Resonance |
|---|---|
| Red | Hexahedron |
| Green | Pyramidal |
| Yellow | Spherical |
Keep the required bracelet cue separate from the hand’s original attack area. Have the runner call the next action while the damage caller watches the platform. Agree that a movement warning takes priority over a damage call. Firsthand bracelet explanation.
Master, Challenge and Flawless Goals
The current completion record tracks all five encounters. Master has its own full-raid record; At All Costs requires every encounter without a fireteam member dying or returning to orbit. A final-boss checkpoint is a different objective. Current completion records.
Different records require different plans
| Goal | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Normal route | Complete the five tracked encounters. |
| Master | Complete the raid on the named difficulty. |
| Ignited Light | Complete every encounter challenge on Master. |
| At All Costs | Complete all encounters without fireteam deaths or a return to orbit. |
Scenic Route, At Capacity, Balanced Diet, Varied Geometry and Coordinated Efforts are the five named encounter challenges. They are separate from the static encounter Triumphs and the ordinary completion record. Check active availability and the exact challenge before adding it to a run. Current raid Triumphs.
Plan the Loot Goal Separately
For weapons and armor by encounter, use the Salvation’s Edge Loot Table. For Euphony attempts, drop boosts and its separate Catalyst, use the Euphony Guide. An ordinary clear does not guarantee a random Exotic or chosen roll.
Released Update 9.7.0 changed legacy raid rewards, perk pools and crafted-weapon upgrades. Featured status affects Deepsight and armor tiers. Check the current Raid and Dungeon Rotation Guide before choosing a farming route. Released reward overhaul.
Choose a Salvation’s Edge Service
In Destiny 2 Raids & Pantheon, choose one named objective for one Guardian. Full Normal, Witness-only, Master completion and Flawless completion are separately priced selections.
Choose the raid objective you need
Destiny 2 Raids & Pantheon
- Named raid and boss clears
- Master and Flawless objectives
- Activity-specific participation
All four published Salvation’s Edge choices support Piloted or group Self-play. Self-play means you control your Guardian and adds 20% of the normal Piloted base. PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox share the same base. Review the selected objective and instant total in your preferred display currency.
Base raid packages exclude secret chests, Deepsight puzzles, collectibles, challenge Triumphs, named Exotic acquisition and extra characters. Master does not include Ignited Light automatically. The Witness-only choice excludes the first four encounters. Priority options do not promise a fixed start or finish time.
Salvation’s Edge FAQ
Encounters and service questions
How many encounters does Salvation’s Edge have?
Five: Substratum, Dissipation, Repository, Verity and Zenith against the Witness. The current normal completion record tracks each one.
Should a new team bring six players?
Plan a coordinated team of six for learning the route. Current Standard and Master activities have matchmaking off and support up to six Guardians.
What is the key idea in Verity?
Inside keys and outside solids must match, using the two shapes absent from the inside statue. Confirm both sides are ready before leaving.
Does a Witness checkpoint complete the full raid objective?
The Witness-only service covers the final encounter. Full-raid completion and Flawless records require their stated broader conditions.
Is a Master clear the same as Ignited Light?
No. Ignited Light requires all encounter challenges on Master. The base Master completion package excludes challenge Triumphs.
Does Flawless allow returning to orbit?
At All Costs requires all encounters without a fireteam member dying or returning to orbit. Plan the uninterrupted run.
Does a normal raid clear guarantee Euphony?
The base clear does not guarantee the random Exotic. Named weapon acquisition is a separate goal.
Can I select Self-play on console?
All four listed Salvation’s Edge objectives support group Self-play. PlayStation 5 and Xbox use the same base as PC; Self-play adds 20%.
