Destiny 2 Trials Rewards: Lighthouse, Gear Tiers & Mods
Plan Destiny 2 Trials rewards with the right Passage, attunement and weapon tier. Compare Lighthouse goals, win streaks and compatible mod choices.
Searching for Trials Adept weapons can lead you to a guide written for a different reward system. Before planning a Lighthouse trip, identify the weapon you want, the reward version available now and the Passage you are using. A win count, a win streak, a gear tier and a desired perk roll describe different results.
Reviewed October 14, 2026. This guide separates historical Adept terminology from current Trials reward planning, explains the published Passage model and shows how to inspect a weapon before spending upgrade materials. It also distinguishes CFNBoost’s win objectives from a guarantee of a particular drop.
What Changed for Trials Rewards?
Bungie’s June 2026 return announcement says all Trials weapons can drop each weekend, with Inventory attunement improving the chance of the selected reward. Update 9.7.0 changed the single Lighthouse weapon to a featured weapon pool. Do not plan around an old one-weapon weekend schedule. June return announcement. Released Trials changes.
The map rotation can contain one to three active maps after selections from three pools. Prepare for the current selection rather than practicing only the single map named in an older guide. Released map-selection rules.
Separate the reward questions
| Question | Inspect before the session |
|---|---|
| Which weapon? | Its name and the reward pool it belongs to. |
| Which version? | The displayed gear tier or legacy Adept identity. |
| Which roll? | The traits and components you actually want. |
| Which route? | Passage progress, Lighthouse reward state or vendor eligibility. |
Write a specific target, such as a named weapon with a useful trait combination, instead of calling every desirable reward an “Adept.” After a match or chest, inspect what you actually received before deciding whether the goal is complete.
Legacy Adept Weapons and Current Gear Tiers
In its 2020 Trials announcement, Bungie tied Adept weapons and Adept mods to a Flawless Lighthouse chest and described an Adept-only mod system. That is historical context, not a current drop schedule or a rule that can be applied to every tiered weapon. Original Adept announcement.
A weapon carrying a legacy Adept name and a weapon displaying a gear tier should be inspected individually. Check its available mod choices and upgrade controls. Do not assume that an old acquisition guide proves a current weekend reward, or that two similarly named versions have the same options.
Check Access Before Planning a Lighthouse Run
Bungie’s current support guide lists Trials on weekends except when Iron Banner is active. Access requires SMS verification and ownership of The Edge of Fate, Renegades or Destiny 2: The Collection; a platform subscription may also be needed. Monument of Triumph access guide.
Confirm the activity is available on the account and platform you will use. Resolve a locked playlist before arranging a session. Read the current entry requirements instead of treating the Power 200 value from The Edge of Fate launch as a current requirement.
Trials Passage, Lighthouse Passage and Win Streaks
Bungie’s February 2025 explanation distinguishes a regular Trials Passage from the Lighthouse Passage: the latter reaches the Lighthouse after seven wins, with consecutive wins affecting rewards. The regular Passage is not the Lighthouse route. The Edge of Fate notes retained the seven-win structure while rebalancing chest rewards. Published Passage explanation. Released 9.0.0.1 changes.
Different progress measures
| Measure | What to record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Total wins | Wins accumulated toward the selected goal | Seven total wins does not itself describe seven consecutive wins. |
| Win streak | Consecutive victories for the named streak objective | A loss separates streaks; do not merge them into a larger one. |
| Lighthouse state | The current event’s visit and reward state | A future trip and additional wins after a visit are different goals. |
| Actual rewards | Item, tier and traits received | Progress completion is separate from getting the exact desired roll. |
Read the active Passage before resetting it or changing goals. Agree with your team whether the session is for accumulated wins, a specified streak or extra wins after a Lighthouse visit. Record the starting state so earlier progress is not counted as newly completed work.
The 2025 explanation contains Adept drop guarantees for that era. This page does not republish those percentages as October 2026 guarantees. Use the current Passage and reward preview to understand the result available to your account.
Attunement and Saint-14 Focusing
Update 9.7.0 places attunement in Inventory’s Accessories area above Consumables; selections can be changed freely and increase the selected weapon’s chance. Saint-14’s reputation track returned, and Trials-engram focusing includes tiered Trials gear. Released attunement and vendor rules.
Use attunement to choose the item you want to pursue, then inspect Saint-14’s available focusing options. Check the displayed cost and eligibility before spending. A higher chance of the weapon is not a guarantee of its exact trait combination, so keep item targeting and roll selection as separate decisions.
A useful targeting sequence
| Step | Player action |
|---|---|
| Name the target | Choose the weapon and traits you intend to use. |
| Inspect the current route | Check the live activity pool, Passage and vendor options. |
| Check attunement | Confirm the selected target before continuing play. |
| Review rewards | Compare the received item against the target, not only its name. |
Weapon Tier Upgrades Do Not Add Missing Traits
Bungie’s Monument of Triumph design explanation describes upgrading eligible tiered weapons through an inspection-screen socket, including previously acquired items. Upgrades grant enhanced benefits and access to Tier 5 cosmetics, but cannot add extra traits to the columns. A naturally dropped multiperk version can still be useful. Tier-upgrade design explanation.
If you already have a roll you like, inspect its upgrade path before dismantling it solely because a higher-tier copy exists. If it lacks the trait you wanted, do not spend materials expecting an upgrade to insert that missing choice. Compare the roll first, then the benefits and displayed costs of upgrading it.
Enhanced Weapon Mods and Artifact Mods
The released June 2026 notes put Enhanced Weapon Mod access at Gear Tier 3. They also disable Artifact mods in Trials matches. Weapon mod compatibility and Artifact effects are separate systems. Released mod and Artifact changes.
Avoid mixing up three systems
| System | Practical check |
|---|---|
| Legacy Adept mods | Inspect the owned weapon and its compatible choices. |
| Enhanced weapon mods | Check the weapon’s gear tier and available mod socket. |
| Artifact mods | Do not base the Trials plan on an Artifact effect that is disabled there. |
Choose a compatible mod for a problem you can observe: a weapon may feel awkward to control, slow to ready or inconvenient during your usual engagement. Test one change at a time. Keep the rest of the build consistent so you can judge the difference rather than changing several things at once.
How to Compare Two Weapon Rolls
Original editorial comparison checklist
| Check | Useful question |
|---|---|
| Trait activation | Can I trigger the benefit during the engagements I actually play? |
| Handling and control | Can I acquire the target and follow up comfortably? |
| Components and compatible mods | Which available choice improves a recurring problem? |
| Upgrade cost | Is this already a roll I intend to keep and use? |
Try the candidates in a consistent practice setting and note what you can observe. Do not label a weapon a “god roll” only because its tier is high or another player prefers it. A comfortable, useful combination is a stronger basis for your own material spending than an unsupported universal ranking.
Plan a Focused Trials Session
- Check current access, activity availability and the selected Passage.
- Choose accumulated wins, a specific streak or post-Lighthouse wins.
- Inspect the weapon target, reward pool and attunement.
- Use a loadout you can operate reliably under the current rules.
- Record the resulting progress and inspect rewards separately.
After a difficult match, identify one issue you can work on: an unclear call, a repeated position or a weapon interaction you struggled to use. Practice that issue rather than treating a reward purchase or a different item as proof that the underlying problem has gone away.
Compare CFNBoost Trials Objectives
CFNBoost’s Trials service sells a named objective for one eligible Guardian: a Lighthouse passage route, a five- or seven-win streak, or a stated number of additional wins after a Lighthouse visit in the active event. A package is not a guaranteed weapon roll, mod collection or full armor set.

Trials Weapons and Mods FAQ
Reward planning and service scope
Are seven total wins the same as a seven-win streak?
No. Total wins and consecutive wins are different measures. Choose the explicitly named streak if consecutive victories are your goal.
Does an older Adept guide prove the current reward?
No. Older guides describe the rewards of their release period. Inspect the current Passage, reward preview and weapon version before applying a historical claim.
Does attunement guarantee my preferred roll?
No. Targeting the weapon and receiving the exact traits you want are separate outcomes. Inspect each reward rather than counting every drop as the desired result.
Can a tier upgrade insert the trait I am missing?
The published tier-upgrade design does not add extra traits to the weapon columns. Compare the actual roll before spending upgrade materials.
Should I prepare around Artifact mods in Trials?
Bungie’s released June 2026 notes disable Artifact mods in Trials. Inspect weapon mod compatibility separately when preparing the loadout.
Can I purchase post-Lighthouse wins before the initial visit?
Extra-wins-only packages require an existing Lighthouse visit in the active event. The combined package includes the named initial streak followed by seven additional wins.
Does the Trials package guarantee a specific weapon or mod?
The purchase covers the selected passage, streak or additional-win objective on one Guardian. A particular random roll, every mod or a complete armor collection is not included.
Can I choose Self-play?
The published Trials objectives offer Self-play with a 20% addition to the Normal Piloted base. You remain in control and join the arranged team during the agreed play window.
