T&L Skill Cores Rework: Nov 10 Guide
What the November 10 Skill Core rework changes in T&L, what happens to your cores and scrolls, and a checklist for the update.
The T&L Skill Cores system changes on November 10, 2026: cores stop being engraved onto weapons and become registered passives you slot in a new menu, free to swap. Below we cover exactly what NC and Amazon Game Studios announced, what happens to the cores and scrolls you already own, and what we would do with your account before the update lands.
What changes on November 10
Until now a Skill Core lived on the weapon: you imprinted it onto Heroic equipment with a scroll, and moving it meant spending an Extraction Scroll. From the November 10 release, the core belongs to the character, not the item. NC's advance notice in Update 4.18.0 lists these changes:
- Registration: using a Skill Core item registers that core to your character, the same way you unlock a collectible.
- Free swaps: registered cores can be equipped and removed at no cost in a new Skills, then Skill Cores menu.
- Weapon check: a core only takes effect while a Heroic weapon of the matching weapon category is equipped.
- Presets: Skill Core Presets let you switch core combinations for different combat situations.
- Removed: Skill Core Engraving and Extraction. Kept: Stat Conversion.
Skill Cores before and after November 10
| Topic | Until November 10 | From November 10 |
|---|---|---|
| Where the core lives | Engraved onto a specific piece of Heroic equipment | Registered to the character and equipped in dedicated slots |
| Moving a core | Needs a Skill Core Extraction Scroll | Equip or remove for free in Skills, then Skill Cores |
| Switching setups | Swap weapons or re-imprint | Skill Core Presets |
| Requirement | The core is on the weapon itself | A Heroic weapon of the matching category must be equipped |
| Imprint and Extraction Scrolls | Bought, crafted or used normally | No longer supplied; existing scrolls are converted by mail |
NC has not said how many slots or presets you get. We will add those numbers once the update notes are live.
What happens to the cores you already own
You do not need to pull cores off your gear before the update. The conversion is automatic, but the result differs by core type, and one detail matters if you trade.
- Cores on Heroic equipment are removed from the item and delivered to you by Mail, ready to register.
- Archboss-family cores are reclaimed, and the original equipment item tied to that core is mailed back to you.
- If you own the matching Archboss weapon, or receive it through this conversion, the weapon's acquisition achievement and core registration are applied automatically and the achievement is marked as already claimed.
- Equipment delivered by this process is untradeable. If you were planning to sell or trade an item that carries an Archboss core, think about that before November 10.
Our tip: take a screenshot of each weapon's current core before maintenance. With several cores arriving by mail at once, it makes rebuilding your old setup in the new menu much faster.
Imprint and Extraction Scrolls: what they turn into
Both scroll types stop being crafted, sold or otherwise supplied after the change. Anything left in your inventory is converted and mailed to you:
Scroll conversion on November 10
| Item you hold | Converted into (per scroll) |
|---|---|
| Skill Core Imprint Scroll | 1,220,000 Sollant |
| Skill Core Extraction Scroll | 5 Precious Marind Ore, 5 Polished Crystals, 2 Adventure Coins: Indomitable and 1,220,000 Sollant |
Since Update 3.7.0 (November 2025), Imprint Scrolls have been sold for Sollant by the Raid Goods Exchange Merchant. Before you buy one now, compare its price with the 1,220,000 Sollant it converts back into. If you only want a scroll to move a core before the update, it is usually better to wait, since moving cores will be free in two weeks. Scrolls already in your bags are not wasted: the Extraction Scroll conversion even adds upgrade materials on top of the Sollant.
Archboss weapons and crafting changes
Archboss weapons get their Skill Cores in a new way. Applicable Archboss weapons grant their core through an acquisition achievement reward, so owning the weapon is what unlocks the core. Because of that, crafting recipes that use existing Skill Cores for Archboss weapons, and the related Archboss Skill Core recipes, are being removed.
Update 3.7.0 also added recipes that upgrade T2 Deluzhnoa and Giant Cordy Skill Cores to their T3 versions. The advance notice does not mention these upgrade recipes, so we would not assume they change until the November 10 notes say so.
More Skill Core changes planned for November
The October 2026 Resistance Report lists further Skill Core plans for November. They are announced as plans, without exact numbers or a date, so treat them as unconfirmed for now:
- Higher drop rates for Skill Cores in Tumgir Hollow and Co-op Dungeons.
- A guaranteed crafting system to craft a specific Skill Core with materials earned through regular play.
- Three new Skill Cores per weapon.
- Related combat changes: extra benefits from Hit Chance tied to each weapon's traits, and less excess Evasion from Daggers paired with other weapons.
If the guaranteed crafting system lands as described, chasing one specific core becomes a planned grind instead of pure drop luck. The weapon check still applies, though: a core does nothing until you have a Heroic weapon of that type to equip.
Your checklist before November 10
- Screenshot your current cores on every Heroic weapon you use, so you can rebuild the same setup in the new menu.
- Stop buying scrolls to move cores. Swapping is free after the update, and leftover scrolls only convert to Sollant and materials.
- Keep the scrolls you already have. They convert automatically; you do not need to use them up.
- Check before you trade. Equipment that comes back through the Archboss conversion will be untradeable.
- Claim your Storage Chest items. The service transition notice asks players to claim store purchases, Twitch Drops and console perks before November 10; anything unclaimed is sent by mail.
- Plan around the Auction House. It has been closed since October 26 and reopens only after NC's service is live, so you cannot sell spare cores or scrolls there before the update.
- Leave room for mail. Converted cores, items, Sollant and materials all arrive by in-game mail.
The November 10 week at a glance
The Skill Core update shares a date with the handover of the Western service from Amazon Game Studios to NC, so expect a busy maintenance day. These are the dates published so far:
T&L dates around the Skill Core update
| Date (2026) | What happens | Status |
|---|---|---|
| October 26 | Update 4.18.0; Auction House closes; Lucent packs, Celebration Packs and Character Boost removed from stores | Done |
| October 30 | Deadline to opt out of the data transfer to NC (data transfers by default) | Official |
| November 5 | Current Gate of Infinity schedule ends | Official |
| November 6 | Current Dimensional Trial schedule ends | Official |
| November 10 | Service transition maintenance; Skill Core rework; Battleground and Hall of Illusion seasons end and new ones start | Official, maintenance time not announced |
| November 11 | New Dimensional Trial and Gate of Infinity schedules begin | Official |
Xbox players should also note that a new T&L app published by NC must be installed after the transition, and every platform needs a new update. NC has promised step-by-step instructions before the date.
How we would set up cores after the update
Free swapping changes how you should think about cores. Instead of committing one core to one weapon, build at least two presets: one for PvE (dungeons, Dimensional Trials, field bosses) and one for PvP (Castle Siege, Battlegrounds, Riftstone and Boonstone fights). Register every core you collect, even ones you do not use today, because a future balance patch can make an old core useful again at no cost.
Remember that the matching Heroic weapon is the real gate. If you play a weapon pair where only one weapon is Heroic, only that weapon category's core will work. For many players the next real upgrade after November 10 is the second Heroic weapon, not another core.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does the T&L Skill Core rework go live?
NC and Amazon Game Studios announced the Skill Core system update for the November 10, 2026 release, the same day the Western service moves to NC. The exact maintenance start time and length had not been announced as of October 28, 2026.
Will I lose my Skill Cores after the update?
No. Cores currently on Heroic equipment are removed and sent to you by mail so you can register them. Archboss-family cores are reclaimed and the original equipment item is mailed back, with the acquisition achievement and core registration applied automatically. Items returned this way are untradeable.
What happens to Skill Core Imprint and Extraction Scrolls?
They are no longer crafted, sold or supplied. Each Imprint Scroll you hold converts to 1,220,000 Sollant. Each Extraction Scroll converts to 5 Precious Marind Ore, 5 Polished Crystals, 2 Adventure Coins: Indomitable and 1,220,000 Sollant. Everything is delivered by in-game mail.
Does a Skill Core work without a Heroic weapon?
No. After the rework a registered Skill Core only takes effect while a Heroic weapon of the matching weapon category is equipped, so the Heroic weapon is still the main requirement.
Is it free to change Skill Cores after November 10?
Yes. Registered Skill Cores can be equipped and removed at no cost from the new Skills, then Skill Cores menu, and Skill Core Presets let you switch between saved combinations. Engraving and Extraction are removed.
