A useful League of Legends Ranked plan starts with one question: what is stopping your next step? A new account may still need Ranked access, an unranked player may have placements left, and an established player may need better decisions rather than more matches. This guide covers PC League and helps you choose a clear objective before committing time or buying a service.

Check Ranked Access Before Planning a Climb

Riot lists three entry requirements: Account Level 30, at least 20 champions, and 10 games of Swiftplay or Normal Draft. Those are games played, not ten required wins. Official game-mode unlock requirements.

Open the Ranked tile and check what your own account still needs. Do not treat an account-level target as a complete Ranked unlock. Champion ownership and the required match history are separate checks, while any restriction shown by the client needs its own resolution.

Our Account Leveling service covers the selected level range and requires a 14-day XP boost ready on the account. Its listed scope does not include supplying the champions, completing the entry-match requirement or playing placements. Choose it for an actual level gap, not as a substitute for every access requirement.

Placements Establish a Starting Rank

Unranked accounts complete five placement matches in each Ranked queue, including first-time players and the yearly reset. Results, opposition and previous-year rank affect the starting position; first-time calibration also considers normal-game MMR. Placement defeats give zero LP rather than deducting LP. Riot’s placement explanation.

Read the remaining-match counter before choosing a package. If two placements remain, the objective is two remaining matches, not a fresh set of five. A calibration package completes the selected matches; it does not let you select the finishing rank as if it were a rank-target package.

The Placement Matches service lists one to five matches, your previous rank or first-time Unranked state, and the selected queue. Keep those details aligned with the client. A previous peak from another queue is not automatically the right starting state for the work.

Understand Rank, LP and Hidden MMR

Iron through Diamond have four divisions, progressing from IV toward I. Master, Grandmaster and Challenger sit above Diamond and use their own top-tier rules. Ranked tiers and divisions.

MMR is Riot’s hidden matchmaking measure; rank is the visible ladder position. LP is awarded for wins and deducted for defeats, with the relationship between MMR and rank affecting the amount. There is no universal LP-per-win figure. MMR, rank and LP explained.

Read the right number for your goal

MeasureWhat it tells youWhat it does not tell you
Account LevelYour account’s leveling progress. That every Ranked entry requirement is complete.
Queue rank and LPThe visible starting point for that queue.A guaranteed LP amount from the next win.
Hidden MMRThe matchmaking measure behind the visible ladder.A number you can read directly from your profile.
Net winsWins minus losses during the agreed work.A specific ending division or LP total.

Ordinary division and tier promotions occur at 100 LP without the old promotion series. Inactivity decay begins at Diamond, with different rules higher on the ladder. Promotion and decay rules. If you are in an affected rank, check the client’s decay timer when planning a break. Do not assume that reaching a target removes the need to maintain it.

Choose the Queue You Actually Want to Progress

Solo/Duo and Flex have independent ranks. Solo/Duo is for playing alone or with one eligible partner. Where Flex is available, its permitted party sizes are one, two, three or five, not four. Rank and region can affect who is allowed to queue together. Queue and party rules.

What ranks can duo together in League of Legends?

Use your current Solo/Duo tier, rather than your Flex rank or a previous peak, when checking this range.

LoL duo queue rank restrictions: Iron to Emerald

Your Solo/Duo tierPartner range in Riot’s tier table
IronIron–Silver
BronzeIron–Silver
SilverIron–Gold
GoldSilver–Platinum
PlatinumGold–Emerald
EmeraldPlatinum–Diamond III; check the Diamond partner’s restrictions too

From Emerald upward, check both players’ division, LP, MMR and regional restrictions. Consult Riot’s full queue restrictions and your lobby for eligibility.

If you want to play the matches yourself alongside a PRO, compare the LoL Duo / Pro Teammate packages. These cover net wins or placements, with participation included; choose the goal you actually need.

Check the exact queue name, region and party eligibility in your client before arranging a teammate. Do not assume a Solo/Duo result changes your Flex rank, or that a listed service makes an otherwise incompatible party eligible. Use the current rank in the queue being played, not the highest badge you have ever held.

Riot’s October 6 patch 26.20 notes also address Ranked 5s and extend its queue window to 4pm–4am server time. Current patch notes. Queue availability and schedules can differ from an older Flex description. Read your region’s live queue tile before scheduling group play; this guide does not assume every region presents the same group queue.

Use a Practice Routine with One Clear Focus

  • Before queueing: choose a main role, a backup role and a small champion pool you already understand.
  • Before the match: choose one decision to watch, such as your first recall or how you move before an objective.
  • During the match: make a plan from the information you have instead of following a fight simply because someone started it.
  • After the match: review one costly decision, identify an alternative, and carry that change into the next session.

For a laning problem, review the wave before the mistake. Could you take the trade without losing too many minions? Did you recall with a wave pushing away from you? Were you contesting space without information about the enemy jungler? A useful review explains the setup, not only the final death.

For a map problem, review what you did after leaving lane. Ask whether you had time to collect the wave before moving, who could arrive first, and what you would lose by joining. Pick a repeatable decision to practise instead of trying to fix vision, mechanics, champion pool and every matchup in one session.

Keep the review small enough to repeat. A short session with a clear adjustment is easier to assess than ten games followed by a vague promise to play better. These are original practice suggestions, not fresh match-test results or a promise that a fixed routine produces a certain rank.

Match the Service to the Result You Want

Choose the scope before choosing extras

Reach a higher named rankRank Boost: a forward range between the listed current and target ranks.Correct queue starting rank and selected endpoint.
Complete calibrationPlacement Matches: one to five remaining matches.Remaining counter and previous rank or first-time state.
Add results at an established rankRanked Wins: one, two or three net wins.Placements complete; wins above losses, not a chosen ending rank.
Play alongside a PRODuo / Pro Teammate: listed net-win or placement packages.Your participation, queue eligibility and selected package.
Improve your own decisionsCoaching: one to twenty live hours, selected rank and role.A clear question and time to take part.

For a named higher endpoint, use Rank Boost and compare the selected starting and target ranks. For a defined result count, Ranked Wins uses net wins: five victories and two defeats equal three net wins. That arithmetic does not predict an exact LP gain or guarantee a new division.

The Duo / Pro Teammate service is a participating package of net wins or placements, rather than an open-ended hourly teammate or a separate rank-target range. Self-play is already included in its displayed package. Confirm which of the two goals you selected before comparing totals.

Standard boosting services offer their listed Piloted and Self-play choices; the supported Self-play option adds 20% to its chosen Piloted package. Duo participation is already included, while coaching is sold by live lesson time. Read the final total in your selected display currency rather than assuming the same method charge applies to every type of service.

Use Coaching for Decisions You Want to Improve Yourself

Our League of Legends Coaching offers live sessions of one to twenty hours, with your current rank and chosen role. You remain on your own account and keep Discord available. Choose enough time to discuss your main question and practise the adjustment with feedback.

Bring one useful question, such as managing a difficult lane, planning the first jungle route or choosing when to leave a side lane. Ask for an explanation you can apply in the next match. The purchased outcome is the agreed lesson time and feedback, not a guaranteed promotion.

Use the League of Legends services catalogue after identifying your starting state and next goal. Rank progress, account levels, champion mastery and Battle Pass progress are different objectives. Buy the one that addresses your actual gap, then check the selected scope and total before continuing.

League of Legends Ranked Questions

Plan a clear Ranked objective

Does Level 30 alone unlock Ranked?

No. You also need the required champion ownership and qualifying normal-game history. Check the client for what remains.

Do placements let me select the ending rank?

No. They establish your starting position from calibration results; a selected match count is not a chosen rank endpoint.

Does a Flex win increase my Solo/Duo rank?

No. The queues have separate ranks, so select the queue you want to progress.

Does three net wins mean three games?

Not necessarily. Net wins count victories above defeats, so losses require additional wins to offset them.

Does Duo include an hourly coach?

No. The current Duo packages cover net wins or placements while you participate; live coaching is a separate time-based service.

Does coaching guarantee higher LP gains?

No. It provides the selected lesson time and feedback. LP is not a fixed reward you can set through coaching.

Can Silver duo with Platinum in LoL?

Not in Solo/Duo: Silver’s partner range ends at Gold. Flex uses different restrictions.

Can Gold and Platinum duo together in LoL?

Their tiers fit Riot’s Solo/Duo range. Check account and lobby eligibility before queueing.

Can four players queue Ranked Flex?

No. Flex permits parties of one, two, three or five, not four.
